Nader, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
One day, my friend and I went hiking together. After we finished the hike and got back to the car, she suddenly said, “Where’s my phone? I can’t find it.”
We looked around a bit, but then she said, “Never mind, I’ll figure it out later.”
So we got in the car and started driving. A little while later, we stopped for lunch. After we finished eating and walked back to the car, we were completely shocked, we found her phone sitting on top of the sunroof!
It had been there the whole time, through the drive and the stop for lunch. We couldn’t believe it! We laughed so much, it was such a crazy and lucky moment!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Nader or Nad is a photographer, videographer and documentary film director born in 1984, based in San Diego , CA but he’s available for any worldwide assignment, His postgraduate thesis focuses on the difference between the image in theater versus video art. Nader has acquired 85 international awards since he started his art career in 2010. Many of his photographs have been exhibited and published in highly prestigious venues including the National Geographic website & Great Big Story channel. Nader’s photographs are known for expressing intimacy with his subjects as well as spontaneity. They have a dynamic quality that gives the impression that they are film scenes.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I used my phone’s camera to participate in a photography exhibition, it was the first exhibition of my life. I couldn’t believe it at that moment, because I was the only person participating with a phone camera while the rest were professional photographers.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
When I went six months without taking any photos or videos, I felt terrible. It was during the time I had just moved to the US and was starting from scratch.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They often say many positive things about me, and I feel so lucky to have such beautiful, honest people around me. They tell me that my name reflects my character and personality. In Arabic, my name means “unique,” and they say they can see that in both my personality and my work.
They also say that I’m someone who knows exactly what he wants, and that I’m patient enough to see my dreams through to fulfillment.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop postponing my PhD plans, start working on them tomorrow.
Focus more on making films and documentaries, and building connections that lead to even more documentary projects.
