We’re looking forward to introducing you to Renalyn Quinata. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Renalyn, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my morning are all about setting a positive tone for the day. As soon as I wake up, I start with a glass of water—hydration is key! Most mornings, I’ll hit the gym for strength training, walk to get some steps in, or I might attend an early-morning Pilates class. Movement is an important part of my morning, as it helps me feel grounded, energized, and ready to take on the day ahead. It’s a little ritual that really sets the stage for the energy and positivity I want to bring to my work, whether I’m meeting with a couple, checking on venue details, or managing logistics for an event.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As the Founder of Cloudnine Events, I’m incredibly proud of the luxe and sleek brand we’ve built. We offer a range of wedding planning services, including Event Management, Partial Planning, and Design, all with a focus on elevating the aesthetic of every celebration. It’s all part of our commitment to creating beautiful moments and lasting memories for our couples, and we can’t wait to share more with our community in the future.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
What’s taught me the most about work as a wedding planner is the constant balancing act between creativity and logistics. Weddings are a celebration of love, so there’s a lot of heart and emotion involved, but the execution is all about precision, organization, and adaptability. Over the years, I’ve learned that no two weddings are ever the same. It’s the unexpected challenges that push you to grow, whether it’s a last-minute change in plans, weather surprises, or tight timelines. But what’s truly shaped my approach is the ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly with everyone involved, and always be ready to pivot when necessary. It’s a reminder that flexibility, combined with a clear vision and strong planning, is key to success. And on a personal level, I’ve learned the importance of building a strong team that shares in that commitment to excellence—because every wedding is a collective effort, and collaboration is what truly makes the magic happen.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
As a wedding planner, I’ve definitely had moments where I’ve felt like giving up—absolutely. The pressure, the long hours, and the constant demand to be ‘on’ can take its toll. I remember a time when I was juggling multiple events at once, and the weight of it all felt overwhelming. It was one of those moments where everything seemed to be going wrong: last-minute vendor cancellations, an unexpected storm during an outdoor ceremony, and an upset couple. I wondered if I was cut out for this kind of work.
But looking back, those challenging times were the ones that taught me the most. I learned how to navigate the chaos, lean into problem-solving, and, most importantly, stay grounded and present for my clients. What kept me going was remembering why I started: to create memorable, meaningful experiences for couples on one of the most important days of their lives. Every challenge was a lesson, and over time, I developed the resilience to push through the tough days and celebrate the victories. Now, I’m grateful for those difficult moments because they made me the wedding planner I am today.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
As a wedding planner, one truth that I’ve found very few people agree with me on is that smaller, more intimate weddings—or even elopements—can actually be a better choice than a large, traditional wedding. Don’t get me wrong, I love creating beautiful experiences for couples, no matter the size, but I’ve seen firsthand how smaller weddings can offer a more relaxed, meaningful experience. Larger weddings tend to come with a lot of stress: the bigger the guest count, the more moving parts to manage, and the higher the chance for family drama or last-minute complications. Plus, the expenses can quickly spiral out of control.
For many couples, opting for a smaller celebration means they can focus on the things that matter most to them—creating intimate moments with their closest family and friends without feeling overwhelmed by logistics. It’s about quality, not quantity. And, in my experience, these weddings often feel more authentic, personal, and memorable. Elopements, too, can be an incredibly beautiful, meaningful way to say ‘I do’ without all the pressure.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
As a wedding planner, what I hope people will remember when I’m gone is that I made their most important day feel truly special, stress-free, and uniquely theirs. I want them to remember how I took the time to listen, really listen, to their vision and then brought it to life in a way that exceeded their expectations. Above all, I hope they remember the care and attention I gave to every little detail, because, to me, it’s those small moments that create the most lasting memories.
