Story & Lesson Highlights with Shilpa Lewis of Carlsbad, California

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Shilpa Lewis. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Shilpa, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
☀️ Shilpa’s 90-Minute Morning Flow
(a.k.a. how the “streamline with systems” gal sets herself up to shine)

0:00 – 0:24 🧘‍♀️ Deep Dive into Stillness
Kriya Yoga meditation, as taught by my Guru Paramahansa Yogananda — the man who brought yoga to the West and founded the Self-Realization Fellowship. I begin with breathwork (Vritti Technique) for focus and grounding — learn more in this grounding article. Minimum 12 minutes, max 24 if the universe allows.

0:24 – 0:35 ✨ Energy Tune-Up
Aura cleanse, intentional prayers, gratitude, affirmations. A blend of tradition and tech — my Notes app doubles as a modern prayer book.

0:35 – 0:45 💆‍♀️ Face TLC
Brush teeth, gentle exfoliation, almond oil — skin says thank you.

0:45 – 0:55 ☕ Morning Detox Concoction
Warm water + apple cider vinegar + turmeric/ginger/lemon. My science-meets-spirituality ritual in a mug — why I do it is here.

0:55 – 1:05 🏡 Sip + Stretches
Light movement and a quick kitchen tidy-up. (My future self approves.)

1:05 – 1:30 📋 Streamline Mode ON
Kanban board = visual GPS for my “To Do → Doing → Done.” Daily planner = my script for the day. Together, they keep me intentional and in flow.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a Holistic Tech Innovator and founder of Omni Mindfulness — a platform and podcast rated in the top 10% globally by Listen Notes. It’s where soulful solopreneurs and second-act women learn to streamline their life and business with intention. My work blends over two decades of experience in user experience design and AI with my certifications in meditation life coaching, yoga, and social media strategy.

What makes my approach unique is that I live at the intersection of science and spirituality. I help clients cut through digital noise, align with their “why,” and amplify their authentic voice — all while staying true to their values. My signature frameworks, like the Omni Pivot™ Framework and Amplify Authentically™, guide clients through practical systems and mindful storytelling so their business feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.

Right now, I’m most excited about my new premium spin-off series, Amplify Authentically™ — a paid bonus tech-show inside the Omni Mindfulness podcast. It offers audio courses in a lean learning format, perfect for busy, multitasking listeners who want to learn how to harness technology and AI to simplify their work, streamline their systems, and stay aligned with their purpose.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My greatest teachers were my parents — both immigrants and trailblazers in their own right. My father grew up in a small village in India, earned his BS in Electrical Engineering, and migrated to the U.S. for his MS. My mother, the daughter of a respected nurse and a hard-working single mom, became the first in her family to attend an all-English college and later studied psychology. Both worked full-time careers while running side businesses — from real estate investments to managing a small hotel — often after long days at their day jobs.

They were lifelong learners, deeply resourceful, and meticulous in their attention to detail. My father pursued an MBA while my mother organized his study materials, earned her real estate license, and managed properties. Influenced by Hindu values and meditation practices, they modeled a life of discipline, education, and service.

From them, I learned that our energy is precious — and while you can give it fully to a corporation, there’s profound reward in rechanneling it toward your why. This clarity deepened under the influence of my Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda — the man who brought yoga to the West and whose teachings are a constant reminder that my truest “why” is self-realization. That belief became my compass after the unexpected loss of my mother at the height of my corporate career, inspiring me to build Omni Mindfulness, my solopreneur venture named after my son.

Today, I honor their legacy and my Guru’s guidance by helping others streamline with systems so they can focus their time, energy, and passion on what truly matters.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
After losing my mother, my husband and I both lost our jobs, and other family members — including my father-in-law — passed away. I was a new mom with a toddler, living in California with a high mortgage, and many days I couldn’t get out of bed. I loved my career and held a master’s in my field, but I longed to pivot — to find my creative wings — with no clear roadmap.

I realized I needed a reset on many levels — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. I began small: a yin yoga class to slow down and reconnect, and a HIIT (high-intensity interval training) class on a spin bike to jolt my system back to life. At the time, I needed that burst of intensity — a reminder that my body could still feel strong, and my spirit could follow.

What pulled me through was a mix of anchors: my husband, my son, and the teachings of my Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, reminding me I am a soul first, not a title or a label. My biggest lesson: master your energy and mindset, and anything is possible.

Today, through my podcast and the Omni Pivot™ Framework, I guide others at the intersection of science and spirituality, showing them how to use systems — from AI to spiritual tools — to streamline their path toward what matters most: realizing their true nature.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely — because I’ve built my work, and my life, around alignment. My Amplify Authentically™ initiative was born from the desire to help people connect with their soul, get familiar with who they truly are, and be willing to expand — because we all have room for spiritual growth. From that place, you can find your voice and speak from it authentically.

When I expanded into my work as an online solopreneur, it became clear that I needed to “put myself out there” more — something I initially struggled with. Joining the speaking group Shine On Stage helped me build confidence, and I discovered that through the power of storytelling, I could show up fully while still being the real me.

Being authentic doesn’t mean revealing every struggle or detail of your life. It means accepting that you are continually expanding — and understanding that the real you is the soul, while your human experiences are your greatest teachers.

It’s not about being loud, polished, or playing the influencer game. It’s about navigating the digital landscape with mindfulness, being intentional with your voice, and expressing your gifts in a way that feels true — whether that’s speaking up, showing up, or creating something that reflects your inner self. This is especially valuable when making professional pivots, because the more aligned you are on the inside, the more clearly you can communicate your next chapter to the world.

Through my streamline with systems approach, I blend science and spirituality to give people the tools, structure, and confidence to amplify their voice in a way that’s both authentic and sustainable.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Absolutely what I was born to do. I’ve always challenged the status quo — from resisting cultural expectations of an arranged marriage and choosing to marry for love, to stepping away from corporate culture to create Omni Mindfulness. Combining my innate talents and passions as a social media strategist, AI expert, and spirituality guide, I’ve built a life and business entirely on my own terms — working when and where I choose.
