Virginia Sihapanya of Bay Park, San Diego on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Virginia Sihapanya. Check out our conversation below.

Virginia, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
What makes me lose track of time and find myself again is exploring new places and trying new hobbies. I believe it’s important to continually discover new interests, because life can feel dull when it becomes too repetitive. Stepping outside of your comfort zone can feel intimidating at first, but when you find something you truly enjoy, time fades away and you become absorbed in the experience. Picking up a new hobby is not only relaxing, but it also allows me to step away from the constant demands of work or daily responsibilities and fully immerse myself in something that brings joy and presence.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Virginia Sihapanya, the owner of Taa Lashes. I’ve been a lash artist for about eight years, and recently took the exciting step of opening my own studio here in San Diego after moving from Tampa and building a loyal clientele. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m truly grateful for the growth and support along the way.

At Taa Lashes, we specialize in lash extensions and lash lifts that are fully customized to enhance each client’s unique eye shape and style. My personal passion lies in creating wispy and mega volume sets, where I can combine artistry with precision to achieve a look that feels both effortless and transformative.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that has really shaped how I see the world is whenever I allow myself to pause, slow down, and be fully present. Stepping away from the online world and daily demands gives me space to breathe and reconnect with myself. We’re often caught up in the constant motion of what’s next, so taking time, whether it’s at the beach, in the park, or on a simple walk, reminds me of the importance of presence and clarity. Those moments ground me and help me see life with a clearer perspective. I see the world as a vast opportunity to do anything, so take it in as much as you possibly can, and fill your life with great experiences.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me resilience in a way success never could. Success feels rewarding, but it often comes with its own challenges and blind spots. To sustain it, you have to recognize and strengthen the weaker points. Suffering, on the other hand, shows you that setbacks aren’t the end; they’re opportunities to grow, adapt, and rise stronger. It’s not something to fear; it’s what teaches you how to truly overcome.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m deeply committed to is staying true to myself while always leaving space for growth and self-discovery. I value being open to new experiences and finding ways to keep myself aligned and fulfilled, because that’s what helps me operate at my highest energy. I believe in living with positivity, surrounding myself with like-minded people, and putting good karma into the world. What you give is what you attract, so when you treat yourself with respect, life has a way of reflecting that back to you.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m surrounded by my friends and family. There’s a special comfort in being with the people you love, sharing experiences, creating unforgettable memories, and watching each other grow. Being present for those meaningful moments reminds me how valuable connection is, and it’s in those times that I feel truly grounded and at peace.
