Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Warner.
Hi Jim, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Our business started in the summer of 2017 in Fallbrook, CA at a magical place called “The Grand Tradition”. My wife and I were having lunch with dear friends Amanda and Mike Kaake when Amanda finished our lunch saying to me, “I have a business proposition I want to share”. She went on to tell us all the business ideas she had started and failed at over the years and finally concluded she needed a business partner. Little did she know she was talking with a professional entrepreneur who had failed at many businesses over 20+ years. She went on to explain her business idea and it was like getting hit by a train. I couldn’t believe everything she needed in a business partner were all the things I always wanted to do! My mind was racing, and I tried to calmly say it was time to go so I could speed home and do my due diligence. This all sounded too good to be true and we all know what that means. I couldn’t do this again. I had to find the reason why her business idea would not work so I wasn’t letting her down. I had been successfully working in health insurance for years and everything was pretty good. Oh but I could feel that fire burning inside and the ideas were racing through my brain. Every entrepreneur knows this feeling. Is it possible every past business failure was to give me the experience to be right here right now and for this purpose? Everything about this business venture was perfect. It all at that moment became so clear. My whole business life with all the failures finally made complete sense and I had the holy grail, the elixir, the magic potion whatever you want to call it. It’s SYNCHRONICITY! The universe had brought us to the perfect place, at the perfect time with the perfect idea and the perfect business partners. This was the beginning of MoxieBox Art.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been an amazing road but of course with several challenges along the way. Here are some of the struggles:
1. Financial – Any company that has no funding and needs to bootstrap itself up is always a huge challenge
2. Resources – This is a big issue and where so many entrepreneurs fail trying to do everything themselves
3. Growth – As we grew and took on employees, it was crazy working out of my partner’s house with employees
4. Supply chain – COVID had caused a complete halt in just in time supply chain and figuring out how to get supplies for our products was a HUGE challenge
5. Pandemic – No business had any data or case studies to turn to to help make knowledgeable decisions because this was our first pandemic in 100+ years.
We’ve been impressed with MoxieBox Art Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the business person and my partner is the creative. Our combination is what makes it work.

Products – Art kits and art curriculum for children grades K-8th grade or ages 5-13.
Most proud of – bringing our amazing art curriculum back into elementary schools that had no art program. Giving those children an important tool to help them discover who they are meant to be.
We bring a solution to families that are fearful of how to educate their children about art. Our art kits do the teaching. We also offer tremendous value to our clients. The finished product is a keepsake item to display or hang up in the house for all to see bringing great joy to the family and confidence to the child.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Absolutely! Spend as much time as possible helping other people in business and it will always get returned exponentially. If you are selfish, you will attract other selfish people. If you are greedy, you will get burned and attract other greedy people. If you are fearful, you will attract failure. I’ve written four articles on synchronicity and if you do not believe it or spend time looking for opportunities and relationships because of synchronicity, you will most likely fail in business or waste a ton of money going many wrong directions.
