Meet Georgia Fowkes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgia Fowkes.

Hi Georgia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been a travel content creator for years now, and my true passion is creating and storytelling. I love bringing people’s happiness to life through the camera. This is how my company, Elation was born.

Prior to Elation, some of my notable experiences have been with The Television Academy Foundation at Abrams Artist Agency, Sony Music creating Social Media campaigns for their RED Music label, and traveling around the United States helping produce VIP departments at Music Festivals for Insomniac. I also have picked up photography, became a drone pilot, and much more in between.

Elation is a digital creative company that specializes in offering curated content creation trips that cultivate the relationship between content creators, brands, and members of the travel industry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Omg, absolutely not haha. However, I think that is all a part of the journey and what truly makes it an adventure. I have had some of the most highest of highs and lowest of lows ever since starting a company. No one tells you before starting that you are probably going to cry and work 24/7, and it will be such a hard mental test. It also probably didn’t help that we started a travel-based company right when the world shut down from covid. We technically haven’t even really been to pursue our biggest ideas yet because of this. But with that being said, I feel like I have become such a stronger individual and have grown so much in just the short two years since starting this coming. And the most beautiful thing my business partner and I always say is that it’s crazy it’s only just the beginning still.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in creative direction, event production, photography, drone, and as my business partner likes to say, “being the mom of the company.” Haha. I honestly do so many things it’s hard to niche down, haha.

I would say I am always known for allowing people to be their true creative selves in any situation – which makes me happier than I can ever say. I think as we grow older, we are only seeking to find that inner child that society sometimes tells us to hide.

I believe when people have the space to be their true vulnerable selves and not worry about what others think – that is where the magic happens for them creatively, and the best stories start to come out, and also the best moments.

If you ask any of my friends or people I just meet, I always come off a little weird, haha. (In a good way!) Life is too short and too beautiful to not just let yourself be your true self, laugh and let your untouched curiosity we used to have as kids go wild.

For Elation, that is what we always want to promote and allow people to feel when working with us or experiencing one of our creator trips. That ability to feel like you can be your true creative self and follow your happiness. Our tagline, after all, is “Happiness Happens here.”

I think I am most proud of how I am able to help people feel happiness and positivity in their life in any situation.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes – reach out to us! We are HUGE on helping others in this industry navigate it. It is a really hard industry to navigate alone. I navigated it alone for years before Elation, and people, just for whatever reason, never want to share their tricks or tips for bypassing a lot of the little headaches when learning.

I believe finding a good mentor is key to success and surrounding yourself with genuine people who are all striving for a dream or something that makes them happy. It especially helps if they are in a similar field as you.

Just always going to every possible meetup or event is a must in my book because you never know who you are going to meet.

I also think reaching out to people through IG dm is great! The worse thing that could happen is they don’t respond or never see it, right? Best case is they give you advice or have you help them out with something where you connect with them, and your next chapter completely changes.

I believe most people are good, and there are so many good people, especially in this industry, that love helping and get so excited to do so – so always reach out to whoever it is despite their following – you never know!
