Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaniece Benson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Shaniece. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey started in 2013 when I decided to pack up my car and move across the country from New Hampshire to California with nothing but hope and the wind at my back – I was going to land on my feet. I knew the only way for me to become the woman I envisioned, was to leave everything I knew – my friends, family, and comfort zone – and wander into the unknown. I HAD to become uncomfortable.
Three years ago, I started my blog: Bloom By Shaniece, to share self-development, health and fitness tips for those looking for a little guidance. At the time, my mission was to share content that would not only help women grow mentally but allow them to push themselves physically and to feel more comfortable getting out of their comfort zones. The more post I made, the more emails I received asking for my advice, which brought me so much fulfillment. I love being able to help people; it’s genuinely one of my passions.
Fast forward today, after the successful launch of my blog, Bloombyshaniece.com, I expanded Bloom by offering one-on-one coaching services specifically tailored to each client’s needs; launching in January 2019. Bloom has afforded me the platform to reach a broader audience and share tips for an overall healthier, more productive lifestyle for those looking for a little guidance.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It wasn’t a smooth ride because I could see what I wanted to eventually do, but had no idea how to get there. I was overwhelmed and uncertain of my purpose at times. As time went on, things started to become clearer as I slowly started tweaking the platform from just a motivation site for women to a full-on coach. It was three years in the making. I didn’t know how I was going to help others, but I knew I would. I felt alive! At that stage in my life, I have found my purpose and are helping others do the same one step at a time.
I broke the mold by being the first in my immediate family to not only graduate high school, but to continue with my education and obtain undergraduate degree from college Southern New Hampshire University and become be a small business owner. Being a role model to my 15 nieces and nephews became the number one reason why I continued to push through the adversities and uncertainty, because I wanted to instill in them the importance of hard work, discipline, and desire to never give up, because eventually you will get there. You will see your dreams manifest themselves and they, too, could do any thing their heart desired.
Breaking the mold was something I wanted to do and I did it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Bloom Academy story. Tell us more about the business.
Bloom Academy is an online coaching platform that I use to help women in many ways.
I help those who:
1. Struggle with follow-through and wants to change that.
2. Want to focus on self-improvement and is committed to their health.
3. Looking for fitness/workout accountability and personal training advice.
4. Confidence building exercises to take action towards what you want in life.
What are you most proud of as a company?
I have found my purpose and helping others do the same one step at a time!
What sets you apart from others?
I help women reach their fitness and lifestyle goals. What sets me apart is that I help my clients change their mindset about getting in shape; not only physically, but the hardest part, too – mentally.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. What you put in is what you get out if you don’t put in the hours, hard work and stay consistent then you won’t get the results you want whether that’d be working on your business, health, happiness, or relationships. I am grateful for my inner circle and mentors who supported me through my ups and downs.
