Meet Kelly Callaghan of Slay Beauty Bar in Pacific Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Callaghan.

Kelly Callaghan is a beauty industry trailblazer who notoriously started an international spray tan business and grew it from $0 to six figures in two years and has professionally trained thousands of women to grow their beauty businesses. Through podcasting, YouTubing and other social media outlets, she has helped women worldwide step into their confidence and gain knowledge on how to become successful entrepreneurs, too! Her next step in sunless domination is taking the show on the road with her Slay the Spray training tour and the mindset + marketing growth event for women, Wake Up to Level Up. She’s lit up by mentoring other women/boss ladies and roots everything she does around inspiring other women to step into the highest version of themselves.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not. There have been fears, doubts, annoyances, people not believing in what I was doing, cease and desist letters, long nights, early mornings, disappointments and a ton of other things, internally and externally, that I’ve had to work through to sustain my business. A lot of the work is internal. Breaking through limiting beliefs + blocks that I had no idea were even a “thing” until I began to step out of my comfort zone. I attribute a lot of me overcoming my struggles to my personal growth and expansion through going to events like Tony Robbins, self help books and podcasts.

Please tell us about your business.
We focus on creating a 5-star experience, every time. Our clients are our friends and will be treated as such when they visit us. We have a beautiful salon where we specialize in spray tan contouring, which isn’t something many spray tanning artists know how to do. Slay Beauty Bar only uses all-natural and organically derived ingredients for our clients, which is why we have been able to maintain a 5-star reputation for over five years and counting!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
FIVE THINGS I WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY TO SCALE TO 6-FIGURES FASTER. 😍
1) Focused on identifying the problems my ideal clients have and SOLVING them.
2) Let go of the fear of judgment because NO MATTER how freaking amazing or shitty you are, someone will always have a negative opinion.
3) I would have built an online presence and tribe SOONER through my FB group/IG following by giving an insane amount of VALUE.
4) I would have created a product AND service based on answering the MAIN problem my audience has.
5) I would have asked for help a lot sooner than I did. A mentor, VA, web designer, etc to help me instead of handling ALL THE THINGS myself.

The difference between successful entrepreneurs and those who don’t make it is in the action of their work. Stop waiting, start doing.
