Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky Lopez Murdock.
Becky, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Back in 2014, I was a mom to a three-year-old son and we just started fostering a five 1/2-month-old baby girl. I needed a new diaper bag, so I reached out to a friend who said she had a “bag for that.” She said a phrase that changed my entire life. “Zip-Top Organizing Utility Tote.” Taking her word for it, I found her website and blindly ordered what she called the world’s best diaper bag. Spoiler alert: she was totally right!
When I called to gush about the bag, she said: “you know, you could help other mamas get organized and start a business, too.” I looked at my sink-filled dishes, crying baby girl, and stubborn little boy who refused to potty train and laughed. “Sorry, but no. I’m way too busy for something like that.”
Her comment stuck with me in that annoying, nagging way that told me there might be something there. I was a stay-at-home mom desperate to get out of the house a bit but also drowning in Mom Guilt for wanting something for me. I felt like I was losing part of myself: the business savvy, idea creating, dream-chasing side. Hmmm… my wheels started turning.
After about 1,000 questions, I started my business with extremely high hopes… nope. I kept my expectations low, probably because I didn’t want to get too excited over something that might not really work out. I thought about worst-case scenarios (I get $400 worth of products for $99, not too shabby) and “realistic” timelines (this will be a fun thing for six months, tops).
That was back in 2014. Five years later, I’m running a successful business as one of the top performers in my company. I’ve presented on stage to hundreds of women, trained a team of almost 200 rockstars, and deepened friendships with some incredible women. Good bags can take you great places. Great bags can take you everywhere.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. The mindset of an entrepreneur is usually our greatest obstacle. I’ve struggled with self-doubt many times, only to realize that I have been the one standing in my own way. Mindset is so important. Phrases like “I don’t have time” and “What’s the worst that can happen?” really limited my belief and purpose. I would make excuses for myself and not take ownership of situations I could control. I would blame “Facebook algorithm” and “MIA hostesses” for my lack of business growth.
It’s not something I have mastered, but my mindset is definitely something I am more aware of now. And finding other women who have similar goals is so important for me and something I would recommend (or require if I could) for any young entrepreneur.
Community is so important. I try to always surround myself with the following types of people:
– someone who has similar goals as me.
– someone who has accomplished a goal that I have.
– someone who has a goal that I have accomplished.

My job is really in two parts. First, I help women easy solutions for life organization, whether it’s the perfect purse, tote, or wallet. I love it when she finds the PERFECT bag to make her never-ending to-do list a bit more manageable. And bonus points for function and fashion!
Every day, we spend 30 minutes looking for something. Car keys, kids’ shoes (and sometimes kids), cell phone… the list goes on and on. What if we could get those minutes back? We can! Life organization should be simple. It should be stylish. It should be practical, and it should be as easy as possible.
The second part of my job is as a Senior Director within the company. I help other women start their business and earn some extra income with their side hustle. I lead training, coaching calls, incentives, and other programming to help create a community with the 150+ women on our team.

Who have you been inspired by?
Such a great question. My favorite women are the ones who have never fit in.
The ones who were “too much” for some people.
The ones who’ve been made to feel like their gifts and talents are wrong and should be silenced.
The women with a calling/purpose for their life that looks a little different than everyone else’s.
The ones who have been told to “fix” their attitude when they speak up for themselves or someone else.
The moms who walk into a group of other moms and feel slightly out of place.
The ones who feel like maybe God made them wrong because that’s what someone told them.
The misfits.
