How Casey Cantwell Turned a Viral Event Trend Into a Business Built on Celebration and Service

For Casey Cantwell, creating memorable experiences has always been about more than technology — it’s about making people feel seen, celebrated, and valued. Inspired by her first 360 video booth experience and motivated by a mission trip to Malawi, she built a business rooted in hospitality, innovation, and service. Today, Casey continues to elevate events across San Diego by pairing immersive entertainment with genuine human connection, transforming milestone moments into lasting memories.

Casey, what was it about your first experience with a 360 video booth that made you think, “I need to bring this to others”?
When I first tried a 360 video booth, I was so excited! I saw it in the lobby at a show I was attending and texted all my friends, “we have to do the 360 booth after the show!” I had seen it on social media, but hadn’t tried it myself yet.

The experience felt like a rollercoaster to me! From the anticipation waiting in line, to getting on the booth for my moment to shine with everyone watching and hyping us up- it was exhilarating and different from anything I had done before.

I loved getting my video right away to share on social media too! I wanted to do it again and again.

That’s when the thought dawned on me, “This would be such a fun experience to have at the events I work at or friend’s birthdays.” Then I thought, “What if I just invested in one? I can use it as a way to raise funds for those I will serve on my Africa mission trip!”

I saw how the 360 video booth experience was organically positioned for success-it was already trending and gaining momentum on social media, yet new enough that many people hadn’t experienced it in person yet.

You launched San Diego 360 Video Booth while preparing for a mission trip to Malawi. How did that purpose shape the way you built your business?
Yes, at the time I was brainstorming creative ways to raise some extra funds for the people of Malawi, Africa that I was about to serve.

I was in Malawi for a month where we hosted a spiritual leadership conference at college in Lilongwe, pouring into the next generation of leaders. These were students who come from villages where the average income is $1 a day. Despite financial circumstances, they still pursued a college education so they can become world changers in their communities and beyond. It was truly an honor to come alongside them and be a part of what God is doing in their lives.

My core drive and fulfillment comes from serving others and adding value to their lives with excellence. That heart posture is how I’ve built this business.

San Diego 360 is the vehicle where I get to add meaningful value to people’s special moments and events- whether is a wedding, award show, military ball, grand opening etc.- we get the opportunity to spark joy and create an unforgettable experience that not only helps the event coordinator have a successful event, but leaves a memorable impact on the guests we serve.

With over 10 years of experience in event marketing, how did that background help you grow this venture so quickly?
Yes, for over a decade I’ve worked in the events industry—starting as a brand ambassador and growing into event coordination and management. This gave me the understanding of how important it is to prepare beforehand and how the nature of different event types flow. A wedding is a very different flow than a corporate expo for instance. Having prior experience with the major hotels and venues in San Diego, along with building a strong team built on integrity, professionalism, and excellence, gives me the confidence to execute events seamlessly and allows the mental space to be fully present with guests and clients the day of the event, making sure they have a memorable experience.

You describe your service as more than just a rental, but a full experience. What do you do differently to create those “unforgettable moments” for clients?
We’ve all heard that people may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel. At San Diego 360, we understand the importance of the special events we get to be a part of. We’re being trusted with moments and milestones in people’s lives that matter. Because of that, we take full responsibility for being present with guests, engaging with them, creating a welcoming environment, and getting to acknowledge and celebrate each person that comes to our booth. We use the best quality technology for a seamless photo booth experience and are always adapting to new and unique experiences to bring to events which also creates a big “wow!” factor. Innovative experiences paired with a genuine heart is how we create unforgettable moments!

Now four years in, how has your vision for the business evolved, and what’s next for San Diego 360 Video Booth?
Great question, the core of who we are will always remain- using technology to create a peak experience for people to feel celebrated, valued, and seen. Moving forward, I continue to raise the standard for events in San Diego and beyond, bringing new immersive experiences to San Diego and partnering with venues, brands, and organizations to elevate their events. I look forward to continuing to cultivate a strong team that can use their passions of hospitality, innovation, and excellence as well to serve our beautiful city.
