Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonna Chappell.
Hi Jonna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
As far back as I can remember my passion for the beauty industry has always been a part of my life. I grew up watching my mother master any and all hair types, textures, and even scalp disorders that sat in her chair. This is the early 80’s so the amount of hair products especially for textured hair was very limited. So, my mom always had eggs, mayonnaise, avocados, honey, and few other organic healing herbs and oils tucked away in her cabinet. Most hair stylist are known for their cuts, or their color, my mother was known not only for her cutting & styling but mostly for her “growing hands”. Just like her plants she could really grow hair. In 1997 I completed my training at San Diego City College and earned my cosmetology license. Fast forward to today I have my very own Trichology and Hair Restoration clinic, where we specialize in scalp therapy and offer a variety of techniques and services that encourages a living environment to grow healthy hair.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? I definitely would not call it a smooth road. Like life it has had some bumps and detours, but that’s how we learn. One of my favorite things about being in this industry is that there is always something to new to learn. So, you are only stuck in a box if you stop growing in your craft. The key is to finding your niche and becoming the best at it.
As you know, we’re big fans of Jonna Trichology & Hair Loss Clinic. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
In our clinic, we pride ourselves on Good Vibez, top-of-the-line products, tools, and services. We are known as Curly, Coiled & Textured hair specialist. We believe healthy hair starts within. Every new client begins with a detailed consultation & Scalp Analysis where we take photos of the scalp and hair follicles with a Trichoscope. From there we develop a customized weekly treatment plan that includes scalp spa, exfoliation, massage, and hydration therapy. What sets us apart is our unique salon environment, our holistic ingredients, state-of-the-art tools and technology, and of course our Clean Water. As we all know California has some of the hardest water in United States. We noticed a lot of clients that find us have recently moved to San Diego and shortly after start to notice changes in their skin, scalp, and hair. Our water is triple filtered and purified with Vitamin C & Collagen. Vitamin C neutralizes chlorine and chloramine found in tap water. Marine collagen has a big impact on the regeneration of dormant hair follicles, which helps to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss. Our water begins to heal even before we start to use product. That’s why it is our number one seller.
We retail our SalonPro Atomizer for beauty professionals and as a showerhead to our clients so they can get the same benefits for their skin. You can find more information on our website www.goodvibezbeauty.net.
