Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Fulkerson.
Hi Dan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to San Diego in 2004 and attended Mesa Community College. After obtaining in-state residency, I was able to transfer to SDSU. After undergrad, I went on to receive both my Law Degree and my master’s in business. I founded and operate Batta Fulkerson Law Group, which is now one of the biggest law firms in San Diego. All my office does is help injury victims. I also sit on 6 charity boards and run my own bulldog rescue. I have invested in over a dozen local businesses and own a coffee company. I am very fortunate that I get to live my dream every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing in life is smooth. You come to realize that is part of the journey. Every day, there are fires to put out and things that do not go as planned. That is life. You can either fight against that or accept it. When I was younger, I didn’t foresee myself at a community college, but when you don’t have the funds, you do what you have to do. I wasn’t planning on starting my own law firm, but when you see the lack of control you have working for someone else that you do not agree with, life gives you a push. It has been a wild ride, but I have loved every minute of it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
Batta Fulkerson is a full-service personal injury law firm. We are known as The Bulldog Attorneys. Our office helps car accident, motorcycle accident, dog bite, and other injury victims. We have been voted the Best Law Firm in San Diego and also San Diego’s favorite law firm. We take a lot of pride in what we do and the results we obtain for our clients. Batta Fulkerson has also become known for our work in the community. I sit on 6 charity boards, we help over 20 local nonprofits, and we helped build the dog park in Little Italy.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Just ask. People are so scared to approach people they admire to ask for advice. Find someone that has already done what you want to do and ask if you can pick their brain. Try to add value to them, and they will be more than happy to help you on your path. Life is about energy, so be a good person and always lead with kindness, and the rest will fall into place.
