Check Out Jess Lisle-Connolly’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess Lisle-Connolly.

Jess Lisle-Connolly

Hi Jess, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
As a dedicated digital photographer pursuing a bachelor’s degree in photography, I’m passionate about capturing moments that tell stories for both businesses and individuals alike. My mission is simple: to make professional photography accessible to all by offering affordable services. I firmly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to preserve their special moments through exceptional photography; through my lens, I strive to capsulate the essence of each subject, creating timeless images that resonate and endure.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have encountered numerous challenges while balancing employment, academic pursuits, and the establishment of my own photography business, despite initially possessing limited experience in the field.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a small-town digital photographer who’s also diving into photography classes to sharpen my skills. While I’m all about mastering the technical stuff, I’m equally passionate about exploring the artistic side by delving into the works of classic fine art photographers. I don’t limit myself to one style because I love experimenting, but you’ll often find me snapping shots for families and local businesses. Seeing how much my little photography gig has grown in such a short time is pretty awesome, and nothing beats the feeling of delivering a gallery and getting all that positive feedback. In a sea of photographers, I like to think my attention to detail, thanks to being autistic, gives my work that extra edge.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Beyond my family, what truly matters most to me is my happiness and well-being. Battling anxiety and depression for as long as I can recall, I’ve faced numerous obstacles to maintain my health and find joy. Therefore, above all else, being alive and prioritizing my happiness and health at the end of each day matters the most.
