My Journey to Launching Beyond Event San Diego
Since I was little, I was always considered a social butterfly, effortlessly connecting with people and setting up events that helped others find meaningful connections. Even without a title or degree, I was a designer at heart, drawn to colors, structures, and patterns. It felt like a given talent, and I felt blessed to have the ability to enhance people’s lives on any occasion. Life, in my view, is a beautiful journey that we must celebrate, and I always sought to add a touch of elegance and style to every party.

My friends often called on me to set up their events, insisting that I should launch my own event planning business. Although I had a background in technology and owned a digital services company, I felt a deep need to be around people and serve my community. This passion led me to create Beyond Event San Diego, a full-service event planning company dedicated to connecting our community with the best resources in event planning and decor.

In parallel, I also launched Skipdwait Inc, a digital services company focused on driving acceleration and growth for small and medium-sized businesses. My technology background and entrepreneurial spirit allowed me to support businesses in their digital transformations, helping them thrive in an increasingly digital world.

We launched Beyond Event San Diego last summer, in 2023, and in less than a year, we’ve had the privilege of serving both our business community and individual families. We’ve worked with notable clients such as McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, banks, and school districts. I love what we do. Beyond Events SD gives me the opportunity to truly connect with our San Diego community, bringing them the best talent to wow their events and make them unforgettable.

Balancing both ventures, I’m driven by the desire to make a positive impact. Beyond Event San Diego and Skipdwait Inc reflect my commitment to enhancing lives and supporting businesses, spreading smiles and cheering one event at a time, and fostering growth and success in the digital realm. Together, we’re making life’s journey a celebration for everyone we touch

The Obstacles and Challenges
Launching Beyond Event San Diego was not without its challenges. One of the main obstacles was finding time and balancing life with my family. Being in the event business requires a lot of time to serve the community, and I had to carefully arrange my schedule to prioritize my family while continuing to grow the business.

Another challenge was keeping up with the high demand, which, as many of you know, is a good problem to have. We rapidly extended our network by building a team of trained designers to ensure the best experience for our customers.

Despite the potential financial differences compared to the technology sector, I decided to move forward with a positive attitude, focusing on one event at a time, one city at a time. We plan to launch Beyond Event San Diego in other major cities in the Midwest USA by the end of the year.

My Advice for Those Just Starting Out
If you know you have a talent, don’t wait to start. Many people procrastinate, feeling they don’t have everything they need, but I encourage you to simply try it. You will realize how fulfilled you feel once you start. If you fall short of delivering to expectations, remember that it’s okay—no one is born knowing everything. The best way to be the best is to just do it.

Most importantly, you must love what you do. Once you start collecting smiles from happy customers, you will find it so highly rewarding that it won’t even feel like work. There’s nothing better than sharing your talent and making people happy through their events. Embrace the journey, take the leap, and enjoy the process of learning and growing.
