Hi Brandon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was going to school for chemical engineering, but bailed right before getting a degree because this looked so much more fun.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road was not smooth. The road wasn’t even built. Every week brings a new struggle. It’s the price you pay to do what you love.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a leatherworker that specializes in tooling and art. I also travel the country to teach others how to do what I do. There are few who have climbed the mountain this far up, and even fewer that have figured out how to market themselves while doing it. I’m proud of my growth as a competent and confident artist, but I’m more proud that I can say this is how I pay my bills.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The ability to confront your fears and walk into them face-first. Success does not come without a ton of failure. Best to get them out of the way, then.
