Today we’d like to introduce you to Anya Kalia
Hi Anya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was younger, my love for acting started. I was fascinated that I could be anyone or anything when playing a character. As the years went on, my passion for the art grew stronger. I would always ask my friends to write scripts with me and perform scenes. I wanted to pursue acting professionally. The idea of being on set made me happy. In the first year of high school, I booked my first role in a short film. I was extremely grateful, and I knew I wanted to continue working on more projects. In addition to film, I involved myself in modeling photoshoots, voiceover work, theater productions, and I still do to this day!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is normal not to book a role right away. With determination, you can definitely achieve your goals! I know that it is vital to stay consistent and never give up. Staying motivated is important! To stay motivated, I encourage everyone to think of their favorite actors and realize that they are where they are today because of persistence!

Acting has been my passion for the longest time because I love bringing characters to life! I enjoy being on set and meeting other people. Every time I am on set, I learn something new and valuable. I have some exciting projects that I will be working on soon and I can’t wait to share them!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Joining acting classes is an amazing idea as it is a great way to learn many new things! The acting teachers and the other students in the class have definitely taught me a lot of important information. I have been able to gain more knowledge about the industry and make lasting friendships that I am extremely grateful for!
