Today we’d like to introduce you to Sholeh Abounasseri
Hi Sholeh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Iran and moved to US post islamic revolution in my teen years and studied and lived in DC area and moved to san diego 24 years ago and have lived and loved every second of it and we live in North Park.
My eduction took me from psychology to sales but deep in heart i am an artist always longing to create and design and the most recent years i weaved in real estate sales and design and remodel to express my love to create. We moved to Noth Park in 2022 and fell in love with the community and came across an opportunity to lease a space with an idea to display and sell locally made goods and arts and that concept and love of the community and story telling aspect has been the fuel of Our Story North’s growth in the last 8 month!
‘Our Story’ is a space where the threads of creativity, community spirit and love intertwine. Every piece curated speaks to me in unique ways, and my joy comes from sharing these pieces.. I’m constantly on the hunt for pieces that not only captivate but also encapsulate the heartbeat of our community. Our latest addition to the store is our charm bar! an opportunity to create and have fun making bracelets and necklaces and tell your story!
We are also opening up a Poetic wine and chocolate tasting room in the next few month next to our current location which we are very excited about. This would give us all another space to gather with all love in the community and local artists and musicans.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Growing up during revelution and war and assimilating to a completely new enviorment has been far from smooth but it
has thaught me to lean on my strengths not my fears. I keep my eyes on the destination but remembering to be present and take one challenge at a time and weave through as we build our community.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am proud of being able to show case and give the community and creators a place to chat and gather and be creative and tell their stories. we all have a need to connect and be heard and listen and i am so happy to be able to provide a space that welcomes all.
What makes you happy?
My Family and friends and their support and love fuel my heart.
My language of love is to give and that makes me happy.
