Daily Inspiration: Meet Gail Siller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gail Siller.

Gail Siller

Hi Gail, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
First and foremost, I am a mom of two wonderful, adorable, energetic boys. As a mom, I’ve wanted to capture every precious moment the days, months, and years offered me. This personal passion of capturing my own family memories gave me the desire to provide this feeling to others.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My family relocated to Socal about five years ago, and this is when I decided to start my business. Not knowing anyone or the area, I really had to grow my company from nothing. I did not even have a personal Facebook or Instagram page when I started, so it has been bit of a learning curve. I put my focus on creating a great experience and delivering “special moments” for my clients. By going above and beyond to make my clients feel special, I have been able to continually grow my business each year.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in natural light maternity, newborn, and family photography, working with my clients every step of the way from coordinating outfits to making sure the day of the shoot is stress-free and fun. I like to personalize each session to my client’s personality. If a child is restless, I may play some games and do more action shots. If a child is shy, I may show them my camera and how the magic of their smile appears on screen. Having patience, providing personal attention, and taking extra steps to involve the families as part of the process is something my clients really appreciate. Trust me as a mom, I know how important it is to capture that image that melts your heart.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
As a mom and a photographer, I get it… Dads usually do not want to be there, kids do not want to cooperate or sit still, and moms tend to be stressed, just trying to get their whole family to behave and smile for the camera. My sessions are laid back and fun! With my easy-going, friendly demeanor, I make sure sessions are no pressure, flexible and enjoyable! It is those in-between moments when no one is looking at the camera where the sweetest moments and memories are captured.
