Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Wright.
Alyssa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I opened Phlush with Alyssa, it was with one sacred intention, to create a space where people could gently return home to their bodies. With over 30 years in the health and wellness field, ranging from exercise physiology and cardiac rehab to massage therapy and personal training, I’ve always been passionate about helping others feel better in their bodies.
But everything changed the day I experienced colon hydrotherapy for myself. One session shifted something deep inside me. I felt lighter, clearer, and more connected, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
After years of treating bodies from the outside in, and living with chronic back pain, I came to a profound realization, true healing starts from within. That insight led me to become a certified I-ACT Colon Hydrotherapist. I stepped out in faith and opened my own sacred sanctuary as a solopreneur, where I could hold space gently, with intention, and care.
Phlush isn’t just a business. It’s a soul-led space where clients are truly seen, heard, and held.
I don’t rush. I don’t lecture. I meet each person exactly where they are, with presence, compassion, and reverence for their body’s wisdom.
This isn’t just my profession.
It’s my purpose, my passion, and my calling.
And it’s an honor and a reward to be beside others on their path to healing, one small, powerful step at a time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. It’s been full of growth, grit, grace, and meaning. When you choose a path led by your heart, especially in a field that’s often misunderstood and met with resistance, you have to be willing to walk through uncertainty. I stepped into a space where there wasn’t a clear blueprint, just a deep belief in the work and a commitment to offering something different.
One of the biggest challenges has been educating people about what I do. Colonics and lymphatic work aren’t always understood, nor are they part of mainstream conversation. I often have to bridge the gap between curiosity and trust. It requires people to look inward, to slow down, and to trust their bodies. That alone can feel uncomfortable in a society that teaches us to disconnect and numb.
There have been quiet seasons, moments of deep uncertainty, and times when I felt alone in my calling. But I’ve learned to listen to my intuition and the quiet confirmations that remind me I’m on the right path.
Every obstacle has stretched me. Every challenge has refined me, and every person who walks through my door reminds me why I started.
This road may be unfamiliar and often unseen, but it’s purposeful, it’s powerful, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
We’ve been impressed with Phlush with Alyssa, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve created a private, deeply nurturing space where people come to feel lighter, clearer, and more connected to their bodies. I specialize in colon hydrotherapy, electro lymphatic drainage, and post-op lymphatic drainage massage. These therapies support relief from bloating, constipation, inflammation, fatigue, sluggish digestion, and post-surgical discomfort, just to name a few. What I offer goes far beyond the physical. I’m known for creating a calm, compassionate environment where people feel safe to let go physically and emotionally. My clients lovingly nicknamed me “the poop whisperer.”
This isn’t just about treatment. It’s about transformation.
My work is personal, intuitive, and spirit-led. Every session is centered around helping the body reset and return to balance gently and naturally.
The most rewarding part of what I do is witnessing the profound shifts in my clients’ lives. The renewed energy, the lightness, the restored confidence. I’m grounded, compassionate, and fully committed to helping others feel safe in their bodies again, because when the body feels safe, healing happens.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Growing up in a loving two-parent household with four older brothers in the Midwest, I was surrounded by laughter, adventure, and a deep sense of belonging. It’s hard to pick just one favorite childhood memory because there were so many moments filled with joy. Whether it was the playful chaos of family dinners, exploring the outdoors with my brothers, or those quiet evenings sharing stories and dreams around the dinner table. I especially rememeber the simple rule to make sure to be home when the porch light came on.
What stands out the most is feeling unconditional love and support that shaped who I am today, a foundation that still gives me strength and warmth every day.
