Today we’d like to introduce you to Pete Ciccone.
Hi Pete, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been a bodybuilder for 3 decades. I’ve been a local business owner, professional fitness coach for almost the same supplement shop owner since 2006. I am a pro bodybuilder, still actively competing, and I coach many successful top athletes in the sport of bodybuilding. Earlier this year, one of my clients, and mentees, Devin Curione, also an athlete and personal trainer, had the opportunity to expand his small but growing personal training business in east county. We partnered up and began work on creating a humble but impactful fitness center in East County, complemented by my supplement shop, 619 MUSCLE’s newest location – 619 MUSCLE East. Our fitness facility, a 4500 square foot top level gym called The Human Elite, is a cozy collection of top-end equipment, high-performance and elite-level physique, and bodybuilding trainers who come together to bring this lifestyle to the neighborhood of East El Cajon / Lakeside and the surrounding communities. We are the regions first and only facility of its kind in the east county of San Diego! Filled with a tight team of specialists and elite-level trainers, our mission is to unleash the Superhero in Each of Us = supporting our own quest for High=Performance Living!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, overall, things fell into place relatively smoothly. We had initial struggles with our credit card processing, the air conditioning system needed work (a total necessity here in East County!), and typical deadline struggles, but overall, we feel very blessed. The community has been very welcoming, and the general atmosphere and attitude of all members seems to be extremely positive! Our new family and our new home is uplifting, encouraging, and supportive!

I am a registered nurse by profession, a bodybuilder by passion. I’ve been involved in the sport of bodybuilding, personal training, and sports nutrition for the past 3 decades. In 2006, I was lucky enough to take the leap of faith and open up my supplement shop and personal training business, “officially” called 619 MUSCLE, based in The Gym San Diego. I am surrounded by a small circle of clients and competitors who also have worked hard to build top-level experience and expertise in the field of physical transformation, health, and fitness. Our fitness facility, in addition to the original 619 MUSCLE supplement shop and training business and the new 610 MUSCLE East shop, are unique in that we are able to boast over a century of experience doing what we do = share the bodybuilding lifestyle with anyone who is interested in unleashing their own personal superhero!
We are unique in that we love what we do and cultivate an attitude of loving the journey, not just the destination – bodybuilding is a lifestyle of peak experiences, maximized opportunities, goal setting, growth, and achievement…and this is an allegory for life in general!
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
YES, the Alchemist was probably the most influential short story in my career that has held influence over my perception of things. As a Christian, my own spirituality has also helped guide me and helped me keep in mind one of Christ’s key tenets, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” The Golden Rule.
