Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaniece Lewis.
Hi Shaniece, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m so grateful that I don’t have to choose between my career and my business because both play such an important role in who I am today. For the past 10 years, I’ve worked in higher education, which has allowed me to serve students and help them find opportunities for growth and success. Currently, I work as a Community Education Specialist, where I connect individuals with programs and pathways that can truly change their lives.
Inspired by a drive to change the narrative of my family’s history with health conditions, I started making lifestyle changes and fell in love with fitness. In doing so, I noticed a dramatic shift not only in my physical health but also in my mental well-being. My energy levels soared, and my confidence grew. I wanted to shout from the rooftops how amazing this felt and how simple it could be for others to experience the same transformation. That’s how BloombyShaniece.com was born—a blog created to share content that helps women grow and embrace their true potential.
Over time, that passion evolved into coaching. Today, I work with professionals from all walks of life to help them not only lose weight but also create an overall healthier lifestyle. Through training and coaching sessions tailored to each individual, I empower clients by informing, supporting, and celebrating them as they make big changes and step into living their best lives.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely had its challenges. One of the biggest was learning how to navigate major life transitions while still showing up for others. There were seasons when I felt overwhelmed trying to balance work, relationships, and my own well-being. At one point, I even hit a wall with burnout because I was pouring into everyone else and leaving nothing for myself. That experience became a turning point—it taught me the importance of setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and creating systems that allow me to thrive instead of just survive.
Those lessons shaped the way I coach today. I understand how easy it is to put yourself last, especially as a woman with multiple responsibilities. My own struggles taught me that wellness isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling strong, confident, and capable in every area of your life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m so grateful that I don’t have to pick just one lane because both of my roles complement each other so well. In my career, I’ve been in higher education for over a decade, and my current role as a Community Education Specialist at National University allows me to create pathways and resources that help students and communities thrive. Education has always been close to my heart because it’s one of the most powerful tools for transformation.
I feel blessed to be living one of my purposes: serving students and supporting them through the next chapter of their educational journey. Community college students hold a special place in my heart because I was the first in my immediate family to attend college, and it all started at Manchester Community College in New Hampshire. I had incredible mentors who guided me, and now it feels amazing to come full circle and support community college students in California.
As a Virtual Wellness Coach, I’ve been helping women on their wellness journeys for six years. I specialize in guiding women to improve their overall well-being—mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. My approach isn’t just about fitness; it’s about helping people feel better, think more clearly, and live a more balanced, fulfilling life.
What sets me apart is that I truly understand what it’s like to juggle multiple roles and still make yourself a priority. I teach women how to make wellness fit into their real lives, not some unrealistic plan that only works on paper. I’m most proud of the women I’ve worked with who have completely shifted their mindset, gained confidence, and created a lifestyle they love without sacrificing everything else that matters to them.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice is to start where you are and stay consistent. Don’t wait until everything feels perfect because that day may never come. Whether you’re starting a career, a business, or a wellness journey, the key is to keep moving forward, even if progress feels slow.
I also wish I had known how important it is to give yourself grace. We live in a world that glorifies hustle, but taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. So, prioritize your well-being, build habits that fit your life, and remember that growth takes time.
Another piece of advice I’d give is that you don’t have to pick just one passion over the other. You can absolutely pursue more than one. What matters is getting clear on your priorities and being honest about your limits. It’s not about doing everything at once—it’s about aligning your schedule, energy, and habits so you can play the long game. Protect your non-negotiables—whether that’s rest, movement, or time with loved ones because those are what keep you grounded. And remember, you can have multiple passions, but they don’t all have to grow at the same speed. Give yourself permission to pace them, and trust that the right timing will unfold.
