PrinthinkSD of Chula Vista on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with PrinthinkSD and have shared our conversation below.

PrinthinkSD , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
At PrinthinkSD, integrity isn’t just a value – it’s the foundation of who we are and everything we do. We’ve worked hard to grow, learn, and push ourselves to be better everyday, and that journey has taught us the power of staying true to our principles. We’re proud to reflect that same integrity in every relationship we build and every project we deliver.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are PrinthinkSD, a small but passionate Screen Printing & Embroidery business, proudly offering a wide range of custom services– from promotional items to brand buiding support. Founded by Roxy Cruz and Angel Flores, two proud members of immigrant families and the LGBTQ+ community, our shop was created as a safe inclusive space where everyone is welcome to create freely.

PrinthinkSD is more than a print shop – it’s a celebration of culture, creativity and community. We are currently in the process in rebuilding our new platforms along side with Gama who is known as OldCreeps. Our passion of teaching will be presented soon through YouTube with a new merchandise line through our new upcoming website. 2026 is set to be our next step to success.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Roxy : ” Life has always been a roller-coaster but to those who I want show appreciation for helping me at my lowest and believing in me to become greater then I every imagine to be. My best friend Stephanie, Sew Loka & many more individuals who inspired me throughout the way. As someone once told me ” It takes a village “

Angel : ” My family and daughter have always given me the strength to continue to thrive and desire to become more then who I saw myself to be. My friend Gama who showed me the ropes of the screenprinting world. I will always be greatful to those who continusouly push me further then what I limit myself to be “.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Roxy : ” I stopped hiding my pain when I realized It could help inspire others to overcome fear. Im 28 now but at 25 is when I realized pain is my biggest super power. Pain helped me understand compassion, determination and strength. I was able be patient and a great listener without any judgement. It build my character to be a business owner and Peer Support Specialist “

Angel : ” Being human is recognizing the positive impact pain gave you. It shapes you to become more then whay you belive to be. Pain is a part of the human life experience, you grow and learn from it “

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
We both belive one of the biggest lies any business industry tells us is as we quote ” Become your own boss its easier then working under someone else “. Being your own employer is such a blessing but the process that it takes to become profitable and successful is not easy at all. It is very accomplishable but when your new to a business and have to learn the tax regulations to how to create a new pattern world for yourslef, can be a challenge. We wish we heard the honest truth to prepare our mindsets when climbing the latter. We want everybody to know it is the most challenging and rewarding experience you can have as a business owner, but mentally prepare yourself for some hardship moments.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
The only regret we have is not facing our doubts and fears earlier when thinking about the shop as only a dream. We wished to have started earlier in time, but all in its divine timing. We are now 3 years into our business.
