Meet Alicia Carlson of Before I Do events in Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Carlson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Yes of course, well… I actually started out as an intern on the Before I Do events team in 2012. It was love at first sight and I quickly became an assistant, to an event planner on the team, and now to a partner in the business and running the team since 2015. Michele Woodcock (the founder of the company) and I co-own the company together and we have loved every second of it (besides tax season – we are more creatives in that sense ha).

We’ve also become not only business partners but best friends throughout the years – so you can see, our business is not only a business but a lifestyle, a friendship and a true love for what we do and provide for our clients. I also want to mention our other wonderful and amazing planner Olivia Sudol on our team whom we just adore and value on our team so so much!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe there are always struggles with owning your own business. I feel there are growing pains, small business hurdles and there are always lessons to be learned throughout the amazing journey of it all.

Fortunately, we have always been blessed and fortunate with really great clients and vendor relationships throughout the years that have helped us become the successful company that we are today.

Please tell us about Before I Do Events.
Before I Do Events is a full-service event planning and styling company. We specialize in just that FULL SERVICE and design. We love creating seamlessly memorable, classic, and timeless events allowing each of our client’s unique vision and personality to shine through. We specialize in home weddings and estate events where we can transform any space into a beautiful wedding or a stunning event. Not only do our events esthetically look great but they feel great and we ensure each event has a phenomenal vibe and overall experience for everyone involved.

We believe success lies in the beauty of the details and flawless execution. This comes only from careful planning that stems from years of event management experience, a deep understanding of each event’s purpose, and a true love for what we do!

We not only help create beautiful full-service weddings, but we also plan and style any event from Birthday Parties, Family Reunions, Corporate Holiday Parties, Social Gatherings, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Engagements you name it, we are here for your every event need!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I am originally from Minnesota so, I am a country girl at heart and my favorite childhood memories are playing outside with my sisters, camping with my family, and lake life during the summer months.
