Meet Bernadette River of Bernadette River Photography in Riverside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernadette River.

Bernadette, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My love affair with the arts goes as far back as I can remember. I’m not sure how photography found me, but it was through the lens of a camera that I discovered the vast beauty of our world. My camera has been my companion across states, oceans, continents, and even a four year stint at a west L.A. film school. Yet it wasn’t until I returned home that I found the true purpose for this craft. I discovered that creating art, cementing memories, and capturing the fleeting moments of life was my favorite aspect of being a photographer. With the encouragement of friends and brilliant fellow artists, Bernadette River was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think any road worth walking is completely smooth, and working as a photographer has been no exception. There are always the slow seasons, equipment that breaks, the artistic self doubt, etc. All of these struggles are just a part of the gig, and every photographer does their best to take them in stride. For me, the reward comes from the excitement I see in my clients as we collaborate and the satisfaction I feel when they are happy with the results. Every session is unique and teaches me something I didn’t before realize. All of the obstacles become tools we use to create something everlasting.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
