Meet Bob Afsari of Campaign Creators

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Afsari.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bob. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Oh man, where do I begin? Like most people, I began my career in business by working for other people. For whatever reason, maybe bad luck, maybe something else, I happened to work for people who would never uphold their promises. Not to their clients and certainly not to their employees. After a couple of major negative events, I decided to take some time to figure out if the business was really what I wanted to do with my life.

After some reflection, I decided to attempt to return to the business world through a reality television show of all things. I applied to be a contestant on The VP Contest, a sales and marketing contest where each contestant was tasked with selling and marketing products for the sponsored businesses. Out of 800 applicants, I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the top 25 to actually compete. Even luckier, during the competition I met Nicole Pereira, my business partner.

During the competition, Nicole told me she would love to partner up if I ever chose to begin my own business venture. At the end of the 7 weeks, I was declared the winner of The VP Contest, took Nicole up on her offer of partnership, and used whatever press and recognition I had to win our first 4-5 clients. Nicole and I have now spent 8 years building what is Campaign Creators today.

The most important reason I returned to the business world was because I wanted to be the exact opposite of my previous bosses. I wanted to start my own company so I could be the beholder and deliverer of promises. Because I knew I would uphold any and all promises made to my clients and to my employees.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been far from a smooth road. Balancing a 3 person partnership comes with its own conflict and struggles, but we were also coming off a recession and the scarcity of money was a huge problem. Between the 3 of us, we had $500 to get this company up and running. Having limited capital forced us into the slow-moving process of organic growth.

At the same time, we were also trying to discover what set us apart from our competitors in a crowded market. But, the most difficult struggle came in 2016 when we discovered our longest lasting, and most trusted, employee had embezzled over $300,000 from our company.

Overcoming that economic crime and re-identifying who we truly are as a company, while also prosecuting her, was intense, emotional, and trying. However, it served as one of the best life lessons you could learn, because we popped through the other end stronger, leaner, smarter, and more profitable than ever before.

Please tell us about Campaign Creators.
At Campaign Creators, we specialize in building online automated sales and marketing funnels for our clients.

Essentially, we take the traditional sales approach and modernize it by creating content that educates the customer. This curated pathway of education helps the customer decide whether or not they’re a good fit for the company they’re thinking of purchasing from. This is what we do best, what we specialize in, and what we’re known for.

I’m most proud of the obstacles we’ve overcome, and I’m equally proud of each and every team member that makes Campaign Creators what it is. We are incredibly lucky to have a group of talented, unique individuals that make coming to work fulfilling and fun.

Often times marketing agencies are known to provide an all in one service. We set ourselves apart by being highly specialized and focusing on one type of service – which is funnel creation.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The great part about owning your own business is that every day is truly a new day. You learn from the mistakes of yesterday in order to not repeat the same mistakes in the future.

So in hindsight, I don’t think I would have done anything differently because every decision we made, whether right or wrong, has allowed us to grow into the company we are today. Business growth as an iterative process truly allows you to start anew every day.
