Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey LeBlanc.
Casey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2010, I made the decision to split from a long time business partnership, one in which we had several businesses together, to venture on my own. To do so, I essentially gave up all of my income and assets to start on my own and under tough economic conditions.
I did it and opened New Venture Escrow in January 2011. I did so with the idea that I would work every day with a mission to change the industry by developing new technology and empowering new leadership. This philosophy has enabled our company to double in size every 2 years.
We were ranked in the top 5o0 fastest growing companies in Inc. 500 and #33 here in San Diego.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I personally encountered a very difficult 2016. I went through a divorce, my father dying, and 2 major surgeries all within that year. These challenges took a toll on the business. I leaned on our team and they helped navigate the business for most of that year. In 2017 we were able to accelerate the growth and just completed our best year yet.
The challenges of 2016 reaffirmed my belief in team and culture. It has also helped me recognize the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy as we continue to grow the company.
Please tell us about New Venture Escrow.
We are an independent escrow company locally in San Diego with 4 branch locations. We specialize in escrow and settlement for residential and commercial real estate. Essentially we help facilitate the closings of those type of transactions and play in independent third party assisting agents, buyers, and sellers with smooth closings on their real estate.
Our difference maker is our 3 proprietary tech products we have innovated over the last 6 years.
We built a mobile app for all parties. They are text alerted of each milestone so all parties know exactly where they are in the transaction at all times. It stores all the documents and keeps the contact info. We consider it a digital filing cabinet with alert updates.
We built a digital signing platform so everything can be signed electronically making our transaction faster and easier on all parties.
We include an insurance policy to all sellers that close escrow with us. This ensures a safer transaction.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Start sooner and do it on my own sooner.
