Today we’d like to introduce you to Djamel Bettahar.
Djamel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a young child, I watched my immigrant parents work 14-16 hour days, seven days a week. My mom would wake up before dawn to cook me breakfast before going to work. She’d get home at 11 pm, exhausted, just in time to wish me goodnight. Yet, no matter how tired she was, she always smiled and showered me with unconditional love.
My dad worked just as hard and expressed love by providing for our family. This hard work and endless struggle was meant for one purpose. To give me and my sister a better life than theirs. I remember the message they imparted on me, “Create something, so you don’t have to live this life…”
Their love, their work ethic, and this message stuck with me my entire life and had been driving me ever since. I hated life in the corporate world; the alarm clock was the bane of my existence. I dreaded going into work. I always felt the calling for something more — the calling to build, create and help people on a massive scale.
I remember the day I decided to quit my job as an aerospace engineer. To take a leap of faith. To make an impact. To create something that would help millions of people. When I met Drew Canole, he opened my eyes to see what was possible. He believed in me more than I believed in myself. He gave me the faith. And together, we began building an organic superfood company that would become a catalyst for change.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It wasn’t easy. During the journey, there were tears, restless nights, anxiety, breakdowns and meltdowns. There were many times where I questioned… “Are we gonna make it… is this gonna work?” “Did I make the right choice?”. The ups and downs of building a business puts your conviction to the test. Trust and faith take on a whole new meaning.
We started Organifi a little under four years ago. And with faith and perseverance, we have helped over 1 million people (and counting) choose health.

Organifi is an organic superfood juice company based out of San Diego. We strive to spread education and awareness to our local and global community about health and wellness in hopes that we can one day impact the entire world.
We believe in the ripple effect. If we can help one person overcome wellness obstacles, then that person just might tell a family member. That family member just might try something new, experience their own healing, and tell another, until, before long, we are all living happy, healthy lives and sharing the joyful good news with one another.
