Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Walker.

Evan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m from a small town outside of New Orleans, where I went to law school. After living through Hurricane Katrina, I worked for an insurance defense firm until my wife and I moved to Connecticut for her medical residency. For several years I worked for a large insurance company in Connecticut defending personal injury claims. My wife and I then moved to San Diego. I opened my own practice to represent plaintiffs with personal injury and property damage claims. That was one of the riskiest (and best) choices I have ever made.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I was presented with the same challenges that every small business owner has: 1) time constraints; 2) cash flow; 3) unwillingness (or inability) to delegate. In other words, more often than not, time was scarce, cash was cursory, and responsibility was onerous.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Law Office of Evan W. Walker story. Tell us more about the business.
The Law Office of Evan W. Walker represents people who have personal injury or property damage claims. For example, I help people who have been injured in accidents or whose homes have been damaged. I don’t ignore my clients; I speak with them regularly. I don’t waste time. And my experience as both a defense and a plaintiff attorney allows me to see the “full picture” of a lot of issues. Finally, I’m straightforward and honest with clients.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck doesn’t exist. There is an element of randomness, yes, but one can sense an overall direction, Without familial support, however, I could not do what I’ve done.
