Meet Holly Beck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Beck.

Holly, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story is both long and short, just like anyone else’s. I can point to many many turning points that have guided me to where I am today, but I will just give you the highlights: I have always struggled with self-confidence, speaking my truth and standing in my power. This resulted in a failed relationship and led to a health condition that took me years of doctors and health practitioners to uncover. My health journey led me to becoming a certified Herbalist and incorporating healthy practices in my own life as a way to manage what I eventually found out is an autoimmune condition.

Fast forward to the last few years, I felt a pull towards personal and spiritual growth. It was only after diving into this arena, fully open and ready to explore the parts of my mind and heart that were holding me back and keeping me stuck–the parts that no one wants to examine, because opening that door means you have to take full responsibility for where you are in life–that I finally knew in my heart that I not only was capable of having a successful business but that I wanted to inspire others as they begin their growth journey.

I knew I loved making jewelry, but I wanted to create more than just a jewelry brand. My vision for Holly B. Designs is to have a platform that brings people together by creating content that joins my background in herbalism and natural health and my interests in spirituality and personal development with my love of stones and creating meaningful jewelry.

Has it been a smooth road?
Having your own business is never a smooth road! It’s all about going with the flow, learning from mistakes, taking on new challenges, and knowing through it all your purpose behind what you do so as not to get discouraged.

I have actually been loving the learning process. Years ago as I toyed with the idea of starting a real business, my fear of technology always stopped me in my tracks. It was amazing how once I truly worked on my confidence and trained myself out of patterns of self-doubt, I was like, “Website? No problem! I’ll figure it out!” While I am not a tech wiz in any sense of the word, I have been able to find easy-to-use platforms like Shopify and lots of free information on YouTube that have made it relatively easy and un-intimidating to figure out!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
At Holly B. Designs, I create meaningful jewelry for women who are being called to tune in to their inner wisdom. Jewelry has always been used to tell stories. Stories of who we are, where we have come from, where we are going. My jewelry has been designed to be a companion on that journey. Using the natural healing energies of the stones as a key component of my designs, the purpose of my jewelry is to support, inspire and empower you on your journey.

To date, I am most proud of my Intention Collection. When you set your intention, you create your life. Each set of jewelry within this collection is designed to support a specific Intention and comes with an Intention card with a corresponding affirmation, and a Daily Prayer card to keep with you and read as needed. The jewelry is meant to be worn as a beautiful reminder to stay focused on your chosen Intention. I poured my heart into these designs and intentions behind them, and they are my favorite collection yet!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
As my business is primarily online, it is a business that can be created anywhere! However, having access to a city like San Diego has been very important in developing relationships with other businesses as well as being able to run out to a bead store to buy a component I’m out of when I don’t have time to order a part online and wait for it to be shipped. I have been able to create meaningful connections based on daily interaction with people in a variety of arenas that I wouldn’t have access to if I lived in a more remote location.

  • Jewelry ranges in price from $31 – $169
