Meet Jasmin Soroush of Jasmin Wears (@jasminwearsblog) in La Jolla

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmin Soroush.

Jasmin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had a love for fashion ever since I was a little girl. I remember I would spend hours scouring fashion magazines, in love with all the editorial shoots. My passion for styling only grew with time and I discovered many fashion blogs when I was in college thanks to the rise of Instagram and burst of social media. After I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in psychology, I started working full time in the corporate world – only to realize I wanted to pursue my passion for styling into something more concrete than just spending my free time following my favorite bloggers.

And that is how Jasmin Wears was born. I wanted to create a fashion blog and Instagram not only documenting what is considered ‘fashionable’, but showcasing my personal style, how I put different looks together, and incorporating lifestyle tips along the way. I view my blog and photos as my own little personal fashion editorial, inspired by what I would devour in magazines when I was younger. I believe that when you look your best, you feel your best and are the most confident version of yourself which is what I love about being a fashion blogger. Jasmin Wears will be celebrating its 1 year anniversary in June of 2018, and while it is still a passion project, I can’t wait to see where it will grow in the years that lie ahead.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, as with any new project or business venture, there are always going to be a few bumps along the way. A few I struggled with were not getting my content noticed, or not having enough readers even visit my blog. It is a learning curve too, as fashion blogging is a whole new world on its own. Despite the struggles of starting out as a baby blogger in a very competitive space with many talented women, I’ve found many friendships through blogging in other style bloggers such as myself.

What I value about these women and our industry is that we value collaboration over competition. There is no formula to be a blogger and there is no wrong or right way to do it. Everyone has their own recipe, their own style, their own niche and the fact that we can help each other out along the way makes it all the worthwhile.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jasmin Wears (@jasminwearsblog) story. Tell us more about the business.
Jasmin Wears is a personal style blog. While the blog features clothes, trends, and links to shop these items and similar inspired outfits, it also focuses on beauty, travel and overall lifestyle. In many of the blog posts, you can find tips on how to lead a healthy, positive life. While I could go on and talk about how much I love floral dresses and how cute distressed denim looks – I like writing about real life topics that matter.

For example, how to deal with anxiety, how I stick to a workout schedule, and my favorite low carb meals just being a sample of the types of posts you can find on I believe my willingness to take fashion and accompany lifestyle tips alongside is what helps me stand out from other fashion blogs.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years?  Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
Since Jasmin Wears is so new, I can only see growth for the blog over the next 5-10 years. More outfits and more lifestyle and wellness posts will definitely be coming to the blog. Another exciting venture I want to do with the blog is get into YouTube. Videos will feature makeup and hair tutorials, FAQ, and will be a fun way to incorporate my posts in a more interactive form.
