Meet Jenny Griffith of Wild Vedic Living in Encinitas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Griffith.

Jenny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I founded Wild Vedic Living because I am a healthy food lover and business-minded meditator. I created WVL after meeting Ayurveda face-to-face at a yoga teacher training seven years ago. I loved it so much that I picked up my bags and moved to California to attend the San Diego College of Ayurveda to become an Ayurvedic Health Counselor.

When I completed the two-year course I began selling Ayurvedic supplements, spices and cleanses through a few holistic companies. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to pair my love for cooking with Ayurveda and attended Ayurvedic Cooking School. I became a certified Ayurvedic Chef. Since I attended Culinary School in Cincinnati this made great fun to teach Ayurvedic Cooking Classes and workshops.

Today you will find me living in Encinitas; cheffing private clients, retreats and teaching Ayurvedic cooking classes and workshops. I also sell my signature online course called; Aligned Through Ayurveda. This is a four-month Ayurvedic health transformation journey.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think anyone would say yes to that! Since I started my business five years ago I have been managing and waitressing in different restaurants in San Diego most of the time. I even got so fed up juggling my business and waitressing that I quit my business and sold solar panels door-to-door for two years because I was sick of barely making ends meet. I made six-figures selling solar and decided to go on a solo thirtieth birthday trip to hike to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest.

I got deathly ill and didn’t make it to the top. I ended up being hospitalized in Nepal and fighting bronchitis for a month. I came home defeated and through that letdown, I somehow realized I needed to step into my bigness again and restart my business. I would say that my struggle has been feeling like I can’t make the money on my own. I’ve always had another job for stability.

Now that I’m thirty-one I know that my time is near. I still currently work as a waitress a few nights a week but I know that my time will come. I’m trying my best and finding new and smarter ways to make more money in my business. Its been a beautiful but messy journey for sure. I don’t regret the way things have unraveled at all.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Chef. Ayurveda is an ancient healing system derived from India. It is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vibrant and healthy while realizing their full human potential. Ayurveda consists of eating the right foods for your specific body type, strengthening your digestive fire, and living in-tune with nature through a consistent daily routine.

I help people discover their specific constitution and from there we begin to add the opposing elements to their life through a specific protocol consisting of food, meditation, exercise, and daily practices.

I chef lots of events and yoga retreats with Ayurvedic or plant-based food. I also do private cheffing for clients who need more specific care.

I am known for my signature group online course called; Aligned Through Ayurveda. This is a four-month journey to a lighter, brighter, and healthier you through the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. The course entails Ayurvedic education, how to become an Ayurvedic chef, a month-long Ayurvedic cleanse and completes with Ayurvedic life coaching and a retreat graduation ceremony in San Deigo. My clients also receive their Ayurvedic Lifestyle Coaching Certification.

What sets me apart from others is I like to have fun! I bring joy and fun to all my business endeavors. I truly want to help people dial in a daily routine that can change their lives forever in a loving and fun way.

I am most proud that Wild Vedic Living has been nurtured for the past five years on my own. I’ve also gotten over the fear of getting in front of people. I’m ready to let everyone know what I do, I might not have all my ducks in a row when it comes to running a business perfectly but I’m trying my best. I encourage all entrepreneurial spirits to step into their bigness and show up as their most authentic selves.

What were you like growing up?
Oh wow. Ever since I was a little girl I have been cooking out of different cookbooks. I used to schedule what recipes I would make each day of the week. I loved cooking until I got to high school.

I’ve always had an adventurous risk-taker spirit. Growing up I always loved art, music, cooking, and dancing. In high school, I was a socialite. I never spent time at home, I was out with friends until 10 pm every night. I was the concert goer and party animal always getting in trouble. I got good enough grades to get by, getting A’s wasn’t my primary concern though.
