Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizz Parker.
Chef Lizz is a San Diego native who discovered the passion for cooking over 25 years ago when she began cooking with her family in El Salvador, then proceeded to work in the restaurant industry the last few decades. She is a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) graduate from Hyde Park, New York continued to hone her skills with Top Chefs in NYC.
After NYC she came back to her hometown of San Diego and worked in restaurants in North County San Diego. She later discovered a position of Assistant Director for Sur La Tables Culinary Program. She taught over 200 classes and after a couple years, she started Parker & Thyme Cuisine Personal Chef Services. She had acquired personal clients on the side where she discovered the love of being a Personal Chef. After cooking for some personal clients who needed special attention to dietary restrictions, she discovered the creative challenge to create menus for their success in their diets.
Later became Spark Health’s featured Private Chef with nutritionist Juliana Nikolic at Biointeligentwellness, http://biointelligentwellness.com/ in Solana Beach. She works closely with the Naturopathic Doctors and their clients on a regular basis. She has cooked for dozens of clients with health issues and has helped them achieve their goals throughout their dietary protocols. She believes there should be no sacrifice for satisfaction or flavor while eating healthy, or being on a restrictive diet.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been many challenges as a small business owner. Wearing a lot of hats, finding out your strengths and weaknesses along the way, and of course social media….got to DO It!
I’m grateful to continue learning new ways to grow the business. The talented chef Ann Hessell has helped us grow our clientele and has been such an amazing sous chef. I am always positive and look to other peer Chefs who have had the experience and knowledge in the industry, which helps us stay inspired! Cheers mates!

Parker and Thyme Cusine personal chef services sets us apart from other meal delivery services and catering companies in the fact we provide a personalized chef experience. We customize our clients menus based on their palates and any dietary needs. We welcome any type of dietary restrictions and assure the client they will have a very personalized intimate experience. Whether the client has gluten free, vegan, SIBO, candida, dairy free, or any other requirements, we assure and provide them with the support and flavorful customized meal plans.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel one of the most important factors to our success is having the ability to develop trusting and long lasting relationships with our clients. They are provided with a very personalized chef experience. We have become like family to most of our clients. We are forever greatful to be a part of their lives and provide them with more time to spend time doing what they enjoy, and contributing to their successful dietary protocols.
