Meet Nicole Miller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Miller.

Nicole, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had been practicing massage therapy in the city of Chicago for over ten years and needed a change. Everything in life was going well enough, but something was missing. I had just finished my yoga teacher training certification and just didn’t feel challenged or inspired much anymore.

Most that have experienced a yoga instruction program can confirm you don’t leave the same person when you begin the program. Something was tugging at my heart, life loves to challenge your boredom. I was overworked and needed more than just a vacation. I’ve always felt a connection to nature, which can be hard to come by in Chicago’s winter months, and I’ve always felt the beach was what settled my tired soul.

There were ways my personal and professional life needed to grow, but I knew it was not going to happen in Chicago. So, in the summer of 2017, I decided to sell most of my belongings in a two bedroom apartment, packed up necessities and my dog and headed for the California coast. I took a mini road trip heading west, staying in air bnb’s along the way until I got to San Diego. It was 101° the day I arrived, so I naturally spent most of my first week at the beach.

Since relocating to San Diego, I’ve taken my 11 years of bodywork knowledge in applying full body, full spectrum CBD oil massage sessions. The client results have been amazing. Many people from various walks of life have inquired about CBD oil massage, and none have been disappointed. I’ve been shown more than a few times how necessary and beneficial this relocation has been to myself and those I’ve connected within San Diego. I’m happy to be here.

Has it been a smooth road?
Relocating here was a challenge, I left over ten years of clients and some solid yoga connections. Finding my niche professionally and personally in an entirely new place can be more humbling than you might assume. I’ll just add that the humbling aspect makes the journey worth the struggle, and it’s preparing me for greater things here.

Networking in a city smaller than one you began in has its benefits and drawbacks. Many communities here are tight-knit but very welcoming, so getting out there and meeting others has been fun. Yoga is a completely different animal in San Diego, and it’s helping me settle into who I want to be as an instructor as well as a bodyworker. All good learning curves in my book.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Nicole Miller Massage is a one-woman army made up of a strong desire to live a thriving life on every level. I am a self-care advocate and truly believe we are our best when we take the best care possible of ourselves so that we can be the best version for the rest of the world. I began massage with energy work, spent years working in the clinical aspect of massage, and have studied and applied years of eastern medicine knowledge, using CBD was a natural step up for my work.

I have used CBD personally for years, and I’m thrilled to be applying it now to my professional practice. I have clients claiming the “best [they’ve] felt in months” after CBD massages. My awareness of the physiological + energetic body has helped me listen to what your body needs individually so that I can show it a healthier way of functioning. I spend time after sessions showing clients corrective exercises and stretches for their ailments, and always will because your treatment does not end once you’re off my table.

This is where yoga instruction comes in, I teach from a bodyworker’s standpoint and will show you functional ways to move so your body can be the best machine, with all injuries and challenges in mind. I’m here to make sure you’re thriving whether I’m present or not. I think this is key in any therapeutic setting. Do you want to feel better? Because a monthly massage will help, but instruction on how to move in your daily life will do just that. I’m here to share this knowledge with everybody I can.

If you had to start over, what would you have done differently?
Nothing. I planned this move for quite some time, so when I jumped, I was ready. I anticipated some hurdles, but I’m grateful for them because it just pushes you in another environment for growth. This is a beautiful place to be.
