Meet Stacie Davis of Hair by Stacie in Miramar Road

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacie Davis.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Stacie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Ten years ago, I moved back to San Diego from Los Angeles. I had no clients other than close friends, unable to afford booth rental I went to work for a commission base company. My new job would use my barber training to its fullest potential, I got a full time position at the Miramar Marine Air Station. After working six days a week at both the barber shop and Ladies Salon for two years, I decided to venture out on my own again. For few years I worked at two small salons, when the couple approached me to take over the last five years of their lease and purchase the business I thought no way!! After deliberating and negotiating for three months we came to an agreement, or so I thought. The day of the deal they reneged and wanted more money, unfortunately their business was not worth the asking. Now I am fired up to have my own place, a friend mentioned a lease sign in the next door center. I look through the window and see a completely empty 1500 sq. ft. space. I think OMG this is too big of a project, but I deliriously made the call anyway. And from that day forward every thought or idea miraculously fell into place. One month later Hair by Stacie was celebrating the grand opening party.. The rest is history, not so fast I was having trouble getting stylist to join my team. After a solo five months I started to think I may have to give up before my own financial ruin was at stake.

After taking inventory on what I wanted to take back to my home, I get a call two stylist wanted to join me on my great endeavor. Four months later four more stylist came to Hair by Stacie. Four and half years later we are going strong, and I have made room for two more stations and am looking for a couple additions to my team.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Early struggles that somehow always worked out, I never gave up the dream.
