Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Barnes.
Hi Vanessa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was a retail marketing major, and got into fashion by assisting wardrobe on sets of music videos in LA through my friend Carleton Overstreet. Plus had the opportunity working on local TV in San Diego. I transitioned into Visual merchandising, and assistant buying.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Retail and fashion are constantly evolving at a rapid pace. Learning the latest, what’s next for the future.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
You can shop for indie luxury eyewear, along with the latest lifestyle trends on the blog at fashionmixtape.com
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I’m an introvert/extrovert, so I don’t have an issue with being staying home. I simply just wanted to put things in perspective with my audience, shifting my focus on humanity. By building awareness by posting covid resources for PPE and food.
