Meet Marra St. Clair of Project Juice in Hillcrest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marra St. Clair.

Marra is a board Certified Nutritional Consultant and a seasoned Holistic Health Coach, who specializes in cleansing, plant based nutrition, and the mind-body connection. In early 2010, Marra co-founded Ritual Wellness, Southern California’s original purveyor of USDA organic cold-pressed juices, with business partner Lori Kenyon Farley. In 2013, the pair co-authored “The Juice Cleanse Reset Diet” and until early 2015, delivered their products and services to help people achieve optimal health through Ritual Wellness. In March 2015, Kenyon and St. Clair merged their company with Northern California based, Project Juice, to serve a wider audience, creating the West Coast’s leading certified USDA organic retail juicery. During her college years at Loyola Marymount University, Marra was diagnosed with celiac disease, which sparked her enthrallment with living a healthier lifestyle, focusing on nutrition, fitness and well-being. Because she believes there is no universal nutrition philosophy that is right for everyone, Marra has studied a variety of dietary theories, from Macrobiotics and Raw Food, to Paleo and the Primal Blueprint Diet. Marra is also certified in Pilates, Personal Training, Reiki and Gyrotonic. She has been featured in several media outlets (print, online and television), including Organic Spa, Pilates Style, Natural Health, PopSugar, Extra, Mind Body Green, Fitness RX and more.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t always been smooth, but it wouldn’t be as fun and interesting if it was simple! Finding good retail locations, finding the best people who truly share our passion, and finding the best produce partners and ingredient suppliers always challenge us to keep discovering and exploring new, creative and better ways to work.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Project Juice – what should we know?
Project Juice began as our personal “project” to energize our bodies with superior nutrition. Our interest in cold-pressed juicing and elevating the quality of our food began by necessity, from our own struggles with food allergies and sensitivities. Our interest quickly became a passion after experiencing the undeniable benefits of consuming an organic diet, rooted in clean food and powerful cold-pressed juices. Today, Project Juice helps thousands live their best lives, by developing and delivering the highest quality cold-pressed juice and clean food, through sustainable methods. We are the West Coast’s rapidly growing, certified organic, non-GMO, cold-pressed juice and clean food company. We cater to a devoted clientele, who range from front-page celebrities and nationally acclaimed fitness experts, to multitasking parents and busy professionals.

Project Juice is a clean food and organic cold-pressed juice company that specializes in organic foods to help people feel awesome through nutrition. The company uses 50 percent ugly produce in all its products, striving to source locally whenever possible and available organically. We like to support other local businesses in our stores by selling other products from great producers. What makes Project Juice special is our team’s real dedication to the health and wellness of our customers.

We have background and basis in nutrition, rather than strictly sales, and love to see our customers feeling happy through really great food and juice.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The success of the business is attributed to all of our team, and especially the founding partners – Devon Briger and Rachel and Greg Malsin. My husband, Tom St. Clair, has been my biggest cheerleader over the years during this process – from working with me long nights pressing juice when we had big orders at the start of the journey, to now being the best daddy to our little guy, Leo.
