Today we’d like to introduce you to Trisha Hebron.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Trisha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Bonita, CA. I spent my entire childhood in the same home until I left for college to pursue my degree in Economics/Law and Society. After graduation, I became a paralegal and have worked in the legal field for seventeen years.
My story begins when I became a mom. I was a full-time working mom and yearning for the days I could be with my children. On my days off, I would dedicate time with my kids while organizing each room in my home. It was in those moments where I felt present and balanced with my family and my own creativity. I would write about how I would organize the laundry room, what elements I incorporated for efficient storage, and what items I decided to purge. When people started asking me to organize their homes, I remember thinking, can I really do that? Is that really a thing? The more I learned about the professional organizing industry, the more I realized that it aligned with the life I wanted to create going forward.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The life of an entrepreneur is like a roller coaster. You hit some great highs and some lows. Everything is a teachable moment.
I launched Mommy Organized in January 2017, leaving a comfortable paralegal job that I had held for about eight years. My kids were one and three at that time, and their needs were the priority. As the sole owner of my business, I wore all the hats at once–from SEO marketing, social media, to networking and outreach. Has it been worth it? Absolutely.
Tell us more about the business.
Mommy Organized is a professional organizing business serving San Diego County. Each organizing project is special in that we tailor our sessions to our client’s needs. We find solutions that are practical, functional, and efficient for working moms, small business owners, and families. We approach each project in three phases – sort, purge, organize. The purging phase can be the most challenging for our clients. It takes a lot of courage and resolves to let go of things they no longer need. We are most proud of the progress our clients have made.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We are already seeing a trend in pursuing a mindful and simplified life. Some people do this by living in extreme minimalism, others identify what sparks joy, and we’ve also seen the tiny home movement take shape. While that may work for many people, I think there is a happy medium for the rest of us. This is where the organizing industry has flourished.
