Meet Patrick Henry of QuestFusion in Solana Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Henry.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a serial entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of QuestFusion, a San Diego-based consulting company that provides strategic guidance to entrepreneurs and startup companies. I’m the former CEO of Entropic Communications where he took the company from pre-product and pre-revenue to a successful IPO on NASDAQ, and an eventual $1 billion valuation. I ran Entropic for 11 years, and seven years as a public company.

Prior to Entropic, I ran two other tech startup companies, on in LA and one in Orange County. Before that, I held a number of senior positions at a number of tech companies in Silicon Valley.

I’ve raised over $200 million of equity capital for his companies, and executed on over $2 billion in M&A transactions. I’m a regular contributor to Inc Magazine, Entrepreneur, Huffington Post, and FastCompany. I’m the author of PLAN COMMIT WIN: 90 Days to Creating a Fundable Startup.

I have an MBA from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Georgia Tech.

I was the winner of the 2008 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Technology, the San Diego Daily Transcript 2008 Top Influentials, and 2011 San Diego Business Journal Most Admired CEO. I’m a former board member and current advisor at EvoNexus, a San Diego non-profit trade organization and technology company incubator and accelerator. I’m also a member and mentor of Chairmen’s Roundtable.

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri in a blue collar working-class family. I live in San Diego with my wife, Amanda, and three of our five kids. My eldest daughter is a freshman at USC, and my eldest son is an MMA fighter in Dallas, TX.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
