Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Kim.
Hi Emma, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Emma Kim and I am the creator of a stationery shop called Paper Panduh! Paper Panduh started in 2014 as hobby of posting crafting supplies on Instagram out of pure boredom! I had recently got diagnosed with a chronic illness called Lupus. In short, it’s when your own body attacks itself. It had caused me to get extremely bedridden. Hence, being bored at home! I started my Instagram account as Paper Panduh and within 6 months it had grown to 10k followers. I eventually created a website due to my followers asking me to sell my items. I had just graduated college and had $300 in my bank account. With the push of my mom, I decided to buy $300 worth of stationery supplies to create my shop! I said to her, “What if I don’t sell anything?” She replied, “Then you have $300 worth of things you love!” The rest is history from there! Creating this during my chronic illness ended up being a blessing in disguise, as I am now able to take care of myself while not having a corporate schedule I have to adhere to.
I currently run Paper Panduh full-time with my husband Davin, or better known as “Mister Panduh” on social media. We now not only have our online shop, but created a planner subscription box called the Panduh Box, and most recently just launched our first brick-and-mortar shop with my mom as a family business! Our brick-and-mortar shop is a mother and daughter-owned gift shop called Paper Panduh by Emma and Ana, The shop is located at The Shops at Mission Viejo in Mission Viejo, California if you would like to visit us!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road as it started as a rocky one while starting the business with Lupus! Having struggles along the way has taught me to simply be grateful for the days I am healthy enough to do the everyday tasks. Paper Panduh has been my one and only business. Therefore, it has been a learning process since the beginning!

Our mission at Paper Panduh is to share our business and life through social media to inspire others to live a life they love as well. Whenever we receive messages from our supporters that they started their passion project or went after the life they dreamed of because they have followed our journey…it reminds me that this is why we do what we do. The reward of reading those messages is more than I ever imagined creating this little business of ours.
