Meet Maruca Posadas of Maruketo Bakery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maruca Posadas.

Hi Maruca, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been a passionate of food and cooking, and therefore I had to look for diets that would suit me for what I love…cooking. So, I started on one of 1000 diets that I’ve done, Keto diet, and I loved very much it wasn’t so restrictive for the food that I like, but there was something missing, tortillas and bread. I found a company that makes awesome almond flour tortillas, so tortillas wise I was good. So, I started to look for bread, and OMG I found almond flour bread, low carb… but they were like carb…board…horrible, and expensive at the end I decided to trash out the one that I bought and do it myself. I found a recipe it looked very easy, and the photos the bread look so yummy. When I try to do it…OMG…it was horrible, not yummy at all, so I started changing ingredients a bit more here and there a bit less of this ingredients, mistakes that were a surprise because they came out better; I had my family try once and once again, and finally vote for the best one. The whole process has taken me 2 years or more, and still learning. Almond flour behaves so different to Wheat so after trial and error finally, the baguette and buns were made to perfection!!! 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well dealing with almond and coconut flour is difficult, plus any bread that is made of any flour response to climate, atmosphere changes, and we have to deal with them. Right now, our main obstacle is getting people to know our bread and have it available in an easy way for them to purchase. 

I’m from another generation, so I have been learning a lot of the digital industry, which is a whole new world. 

Plus, of course, at the very beginning design labels, have somebody design our logo and web page have our nutrition facts labels ready, and government and legal procedures. 

So, it hasn’t been like oh easy just baking bread!!! 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Maruketo Bakery, we specialize in almond and coconut flour bread. We produce Baguettes, hamburger buns, and hotdog buns, soon will be launching a loaf with herbs and dinner rolls. Our bread is totally gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, low-carb. It’s keto-friendly, Paleo friendly, Vegan-friendly, Celiac Friendly, Diabetic friendly, and Gluten intolerant-friendly. 

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Well yes, definitely my husband who always goes along with my crazy creations, and my family… kids and grandkids they’re my best and most cheerleaders!!!
