Hi Marelle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in the sunny landscapes of Southern California, the eldest of two. Even as a child, I loved my role as the big sister and took it extremely seriously. I was strong-willed and stubborn, with a determined spirit. My parents and my brother have always been my rock, my everything. Growing up, they were my constant pillars of support. They not only encouraged me to dream big and take risks but instilled in me the belief that I could achieve anything I set my mind to. Their endless encouragement fueled my determination to pursue my aspirations. Even with their unwavering support and the idyllic backdrop of California’s shimmering beaches, I still felt an undeniable yearning for something beyond the familiar: a desire to explore and embrace the unknown. My mind was often lost in daydreams of distant, alluring places, dreaming of a fast-paced career and the exhilarating pace of a big city. 

My fascination with fashion and beauty ignited from an early age consumed my free time thereafter. I spent countless hours curating collages and moodboards, envisioning myself as one of those iconic figures gracing the glossy pages of high-end fashion magazines. I was captivated by the allure of the fashion world, dreaming of making my own mark. From the age of 8, I fixated on the electrifying energy of New York, making it my ultimate goal. With a lot of hard work, at the age of 18, I landed in the heart of Manhattan, as I enrolled in NYU to pursue my passion for social sciences. This move would also mark the beginning of my journey in the world of modeling. 

From there, I found myself traveling for work and immersed in diverse cultures, and surrounded by inspiring, creative souls. These varied experiences brought me a sense of community and reinforced my belief in the power of living out one’s passions. It became increasingly apparent that a creative outlet was not just a desire but a fundamental necessity for me to have satisfaction and fulfillment. 

In the wake of the pandemic, a yearning for something more profound kept gnawing at me. Feeling adrift in my career, I explored my other interests in health, wellness, and psychology. I eventually came to the realization that my childhood pastime of crafting moodboards and collages could translate into something far more significant—a career that encapsulated my passions and creativity. 

Fueled by this newfound clarity, I took the leap of establishing my own digital studio, which now stands as the manifestation of my creative journey—Elle Mar Studio. Here, I channel my love for aesthetic beauty and intricate details into crafting compelling brand identities, making dynamic websites, creating engaging social media content, and designing unique product packaging. 

In this duality of roles, as both a business owner and a model, I find myself feeling more fulfilled and inspired than ever before. Each day, I wake up grateful for the interconnected series of touchpoints that have led to this trajectory, giving me a strong sense of purpose and gratitude for the power of pursuing one’s passions. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been anything but smooth sailing. I’ve encountered countless moments of feeling lost, unsure of my next steps, and sometimes even questioning if my dreams were attainable. It took a considerable amount of time, dedication, and a willingness to learn and adapt to reach the point I am at today. Every upwards movement with Elle Mar Studio didn’t come without its fair share of challenges and setbacks. 

Transitioning from a full-time modeling career to part-time and then establishing my own digital studio was a significant hurdle. On top of that, the decision to move back to California from the hustle and bustle of New York during the pandemic was one of the most trying times of my life. I was uncertain and fearful of this change and what would come with it. 

The realization that the path to success isn’t always linear was a pivotal one for me. I’ve come to understand that ups and downs, twists and turns, and unexpected detours characterize the journey towards achieving my goals. Each obstacle and setback has taught me invaluable lessons. 

Amidst the challenges, one of the most crucial sources of support has been my connections with the people I am closest to and the activities that bring me joy. Focusing on my relationships and hobbies during difficult times provided me with the grounding and stability necessary to turn my passion into a meaningful career.

As the proud owner of Elle Mar Studio, I specialize in the art of crafting distinctive brands, designing captivating websites, managing engaging social media profiles, and curating visually appealing packaging. I am most inspired when immersed in the creative process of shaping logos, visuals, moodboards, and crafting social media graphics, intertwining my love for writing to produce cohesive and visually enchanting brand narratives. 

What sets me apart is my unyielding passion for all things beautiful, creative, and aesthetic. I’ve always been a dreamer, with my head often lost in the clouds. This innate dreaminess allows me to infuse my imagination into the projects I undertake for my clients. I’m dedicated to transforming my ethereal visions into practical, tangible realities, offering a unique blend of artistic intuition and practical execution for brands in the wellness, fashion, interior design, and beauty industries. 

At the core of Elle Mar Studio lies my commitment to translating the visions of my clients into a tool for their growth and expansion. I take pride in understanding and nurturing each client’s unique aspirations, recognizing that it all begins with their own individual visions. Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve never been particularly fond of change. I’m a creature of habit, finding comfort in the familiarity of routine. Stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing risks or veering in different directions doesn’t come naturally or easily to me. Yet, despite this inclination towards the familiar, I’ve come to understand that some risks are necessary for growth and progress. It’s through these calculated risks that I’ve learned to confront my fears and embark on paths that lead to personal and professional fulfillment. 

I believe risk-taking is a crucial aspect of life. Whether it’s in relationships, friendships, career choices, familial decisions, or even the place we choose to call home, every step can be seen as a leap of faith. Without embracing change and taking those calculated risks, it’s easy to become stagnant, which for me, seldom leads to anything truly meaningful or fulfilling. 

One of the boldest risks I’ve taken was the leap from full-time modeling to the pursuit of establishing my digital studio from scratch. Modeling is something I fell into while founding my company was a deliberate choice filled with uncertainty and sacrifice. I wasn’t sure if clients would appreciate my work or if my ideas would connect with them, but I believed in the potential rewards of taking that risk. If I had stayed with modeling as my only career path, I would have always felt creatively unsatisfied and the need to keep searching for a deeper purpose. 

Similarly, my move to New York, although a long-time dream of mine, presented a significant risk. Leaving behind my close-knit family and the comfort of everything familiar was a daunting prospect. Though, it was this risk that ultimately propelled me to where I stand today. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything; they have shaped me, strengthened me, and broadened my perspective in numerous ways. 

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned has been the understanding that while change may be unsettling, it often serves as a catalyst for transformation and self-discovery…Embracing risks has encouraged me to confront my hesitations, to push beyond my boundaries, and discover the unexplored realms of my potential. It’s through this ongoing process of stepping into the unknown that I’ve found the courage to evolve, both personally and professionally.
