Meet Max Folkers of RE/MAX Pacific in Bay Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Max Folkers.

Max, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Originally from Iowa, I went to college at the US Naval Academy and after flight school moved out to San Diego in 1993. After 9 years as a helicopter pilot in the Navy I worked in tech sales for Acterna and General Electric before settling into my passion helping people find or sell their homes! I’ve been an owner with RE/MAX Pacific since 2009. We’ve lived in Bay Park since 2003 with my wife, two children, two dogs and a cat!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Real estate is a constantly evolving business. I started in 2004 when the market was hot then shifted focus in 2007 and 2008 to adapt to the housing market crash and the flood of short sales and foreclosures. In 2009 I decided to open my own real estate office in Mission Valley, RE/MAX Pacific. We’ve since relocated to my neighborhood of Bay Park!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with RE/MAX Pacific – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We take an educational approach to real estate. We feel an educated client is going to feel more comfortable with and even enjoy the purchase or sale of quite possibly the biggest asset of their life!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are celebrating our grand opening in Bay Park this year. We look forward to being a community hub and resource for our neighborhood. We are also redeveloping some buildings in the area for the betterment of the community.
