Today we’d like to introduce you to Patti Carroll
Hi Patti, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 1975, I obtained my first real estate license at just 18 years old, and became the youngest licensed agent at the time to be actively selling real estate. By 1984, I expanded into property management. Over the years, I continued to sell residential property, and gained experience expertly managing single family homes, multi-family residential apartment communities, HOA management, commercial real estate management including industrial and retail management, mobile home community management, commercial storage facilities, retirement communities across San Diego County, Arizona, and Nevada. Yes, that much, but I was doing it for other people’s businesses- and not a vision of my own.
In 1995 After realizing the potential to build my own business after successfully building other people’s brokerages, I decided to obtain my brokers license and establish my own company- Carroll Realty.
The desire to create a company that not only delivers exceptional service but also a focus on investment portfolios, and building lasting relationships with clients. These became the driving forces behind everything we do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Real estate has always been a part of my family, it’s been in my blood from an early age. I grew up surrounded by my grandfather’s impressive legacy in land negotiations and development—from shopping centers to hotels and gas stations, this I always admired in him. There was also something incredible being able to observe, just by association with my family, expertise in areas such as real estate development, investment, architecture, design, and appraisals.
These are traits that I decided to take on my own with Carrol Realty, however it has not been without it’s own challenges. Throughout my career, I have successfully assisted buyers in securing their new homes and helped savvy investors expand their portfolios, manage rental properties, or make personal investments in real estate. All of which has helped me accumulate a wealth of knowledge to handle and successfully steer through adversities.
I’ve navigated market crashes in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2007, each time emerging resilient. The recent COVID-19 pandemic tested many businesses, but Carroll Realty was luckily able to adapt quickly, maintaining a profitable business despite these obstacles. This was by the grit of my team and I, and by the strength that God has given us.
My greatest personal challenge was facing breast cancer three times, all while keeping the company running. Now that I am cancer-free, we are expanding the business and plan to double in size over the next few years.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with clients, family, and friends is essential. Being fair, honest, diligent, and knowledgeable is crucial. Most of all, do what is right, no matter the challenge or difficulty.
