Conversations with Sara Caroline Bridgers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Caroline Bridgers.

Hi Sara Caroline, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Sara Caroline Bridgers. I’m 26 years old and currently based in Del Mar, California, where I work full-time as a travel and lifestyle content creator.

My journey began in 2014 when I turned a creative hobby—repurposing broken jewelry—into a small business. Within just a few months, I was selling my pieces in stores across the U.S. I unknowingly tapped into the world of influencer marketing before it had a name, building a network of ambassadors around the country to help promote my brand.

In 2017, I attended Ole Miss and began to learn more about how people were monetizing social media. I started experimenting with brand partnerships while earning my degree in Integrated Marketing Communications with a specialization in social media.

After graduating, I took a leap of faith and moved from my hometown in Mississippi to Oahu, Hawaii. My goal was to eventually work full-time in social media—and by the summer of 2022, I made that dream a reality.

I then spent a few months living in Florence, Italy, which is when my travel content really started to gain traction. In 2023, I moved to San Diego, where I’ve now been for almost two and a half years. I travel often for work, and one of the most rewarding parts of my job has been hosting group trips around the world. It’s been such a joy to build community while exploring new places, and San Diego has been the perfect home base throughout it all.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been all smooth sailing—there have been plenty of bumps and bruises along the way. Anyone who works in social media knows the criticism that can come with putting yourself out there online. Starting at such a young age, I’ve really had to learn how to tune out unsolicited—and often anonymous—opinions from strangers on the internet.

Another challenge has been navigating an industry that’s still so new. Social media marketing and influencing have evolved so quickly, and there’s no clear roadmap. It’s been a constant learning curve, not just for me, but for the brands and creators trying to grow with it. But every struggle has taught me something valuable and helped shape the career I have today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My content is primarily focused on travel and lifestyle, with a strong emphasis on storytelling. One of my biggest strengths is creating content that truly immerses the viewer—I want people to feel like they’re right there with me, experiencing the moment. Whether I’m exploring a new destination or sharing everyday moments at home, I aim to help people visualize themselves doing it too.

I’m really proud of the way I’ve been able to inspire others to live a bold, intentional life. I love encouraging people to break away from the norm, to dream bigger, and to chase experiences that genuinely light them up. What sets me apart is my focus on connection and relatability—I want my content to not only entertain, but to motivate and empower others to live fully and fearlessly.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I’ve always been a creative and business-minded person, even from a very young age. One of my favorite memories is when my mom enrolled me in a sewing class at 4H. I learned how to make skirts, and after each class, I’d go home and sew my own. Then I’d host little “trunk shows” and sell them to my friends. Looking back, it’s such a fun reminder that entrepreneurship and creativity have always been a part of who I am.
