Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Velasquez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out as an event planner for eleven years. Someone recommended that I buy the flower shop in Bay Park. At first, I said no to buying the shop. The fact that the shop had a walk-in cooler motivated me to change my mind and buy it. As this shop has been here for thirty years, this will be my fifth year owning Divine Flowers. The neighborhood has a very friendly vibe and I feel very valued and lucky to be a business owner here.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a smooth road. I’ve been very lucky.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Because of my vast experience working with flowers and the public I am known as an authority in my field. For example. I was taking class for professional development and the course instructor kept asking me questions to help her and the rest of the students. At the end of the class, the instructor asked me, “When are you teaching a class?”.
How do you think about luck?
I have so much luck running Divine Flowers here in Bay Park because the neighborhood has really embraced me. The people are so great!
