Absolutely!
My story started when I was a kid, I was one of the girls who wanted to dress as a princess everywhere I went. My favorites were The Little Mermaid and Belle! Belle was even my nickname growing up.
As I grew older I knew I wanted to be a performer and I found my way back into princess-ing. Being a party princess was my first “job” in 2012. I started with volunteer work until I was old enough to be employed. As a military child, I moved around the country a lot so I did a lot of work with other princess companies around the country, learning the industry and perfecting the skill.
After college, I knew I wanted to continue my journey so I joined the Disney College Program in Orlando where I spent 5 years working for the company. I worked in almost all of the major theme parks around the Orlando area!
I ended up moving to San Diego when my husband and I got stationed in San Diego, Navy. I left my whole career behind in Orlando and needed to find a way to bring it to San Diego. After preforming in the area for two years I decided it was time to open Tall Tails & Tiaras.
The decision to open a company was not an easy one, but I knew I wanted to open a company with strong values. and the love of the art. A company that focused on quality, heart, and unforgettable experiences.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any startup we have definitely faced some challenges.
The entertainment industry is not easy to break into.
Financially, the costumes, supplies, and overhead are a lot more than people would anticipate. Especially when investing in high quality costumes and setting your standards high.
Learning to hire and train performers to the standard I personally set for myself was something I had never had to do before. Honestly this has been my favorite “struggle” because I’ve been doing this for over a decade and now I get to watch my performers go from being brand new to being a true princess (or superhero). It’s been very rewarding.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Tall Tails & Tiaras we are an event entertainment company based in San Diego County. We specialize in creating immersive children’s entertainment experiences. Our most popular offerings are princess parties, superhero parties, party characters (or mascots), swimming mermaids, and specialty performers like stilt walkers.
We are known the the level of detail and magic we bring to every event. From our high quality costumes, beautiful, talented and trained performers, to the personalized interactions we offer with each child. We focus heavily on creating experiences that feel truly unforgettable rather than just another party appearance.
What sets us apart is unlike many entertainment companies, we prioritize both professionalism and magic. Our team is made up of performers with backgrounds in theatre, theme parks, live entertainment, and character work, which allows us to create experiences that feel authentic and engaging for families. We also offer a wide variety of entertainment options beyond traditional character parties, like swimming mermaids, specialty performers, themed activities, mascots, crafts, and large scale event entertainment.
What I’m personally most proud of is building a company that families trust to be part of some of their most important memories. Seeing children light up when they meet their favorite character never gets old to me, and knowing that our team can create moments families remember for years is incredibly rewarding. I’m also proud of how much Tall Tails & Tiaras has grown while we maintain a strong focus on professionalism, creativity, and heart.

At Tall Tails & Tiaras, we’re excited to continue growing and bringing event more magical experiences to families throughout San Diego. We’re always working on expanding our entertainment offerings, introducing new characters and experiences, and finding creative ways to make our events even more immersive and memorable.
We’re also focused on continuing to grow our presence in the community, collaborate on larger events, and elevate the overall experience we provide to our clients. There are definitely some exciting projects and ideas in the works for the future, and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead as we continue to evolve.
