Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Burton.
Brianna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, I first fell in love with acting for film at a very young age. My family, of course, was extremely supportive that they even went out of their way to take me to acting classes, but unfortunately because of me being so young I quickly lost interest because I didn’t want to give up my Saturdays to go to classes outside of school, I just wanted to be a kid and play outside with friends.
Fast forward to today, I enter college undecided so I decided to take a film class and I fell in love with it all over again. So far I have been an extra in a Jonny Santana movie called “Spill Milk and Cry”, I am currently working with Omar De Leon and Gabriel Garcia called “Brick Wall Pain” and a few photo shoots to add onto my portfolio! I may have started working on my dream later than I should have but i’m making it happen.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course, nothing comes easy, so far my biggest challenge is searching for casting calls. It is extremely hard to find legit casting calls that are local. I just enrolled at Grossmont collage for their amazing acting program so I am really hoping to network out their and possibly ask other actors about where and how they find their casting calls.
Because I am so new into the acting community I haven’t yet had too many obstacles (thankfully) but I know they are coming and when they do come I will be ready.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I have been told that I have a very unique look and I’ve noticed that sets me apart from others. I actually consider myself a “curly girl”. I have let my natural curls show and their are many individuals who also have curly but are afraid or ashamed to show it and because it is so rare to see big curly hair nowadays, hopefully, I can inspire everyone in the curly hair community to do the same.
What were you like growing up?
I have always been the quiet type. I have always been the type to just mind my own business and do my own thing. I was probably at one point very outgoing and realized that its just a lot more peaceful and stress-free to do my own thing and not follow the crowd.
