Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy Schreibman.
Hi Randy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Established in 1977 by Robert Holland, Holland’s Custom Cabinets is a second-generation, family-owned business proudly serving San Diego County and beyond. With deep roots in the community and strong partnerships with builders and designers, we specialize in serving exclusive residential neighborhoods from Los Angeles to San Diego—and everywhere in between.
Our commitment to exceptional customer service and personalized craftsmanship has earned us a trusted reputation. Today, our custom designs enhance homes, businesses, and commercial spaces across California and the Western U.S.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At Holland’s Custom Cabinets, our people have always been at the core of everything we do. From our beginnings as a small, family-owned shop to our evolution into a professionally managed, second-generation business, one thing has remained constant: our belief that great craftsmanship starts with great people.
We’re proud to have several team members who’ve been with us for over 30 years—a true reflection of the loyalty, expertise, and commitment that define our culture. Their dedication plays a vital role in delivering the exceptional service and quality our clients rely on.
Finding and keeping good people, however, remains one of the biggest challenges we face. Skilled, passionate individuals are essential to what we do, and as our industry evolves, so does the need to attract and retain top talent. Despite the challenges, we continue to invest in our team and foster an environment where people are valued, supported, and inspired to grow.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a third-generation woodworker with deep roots in Southern California, and I’ve been part of the Holland’s family for as long as I can remember. My dad started working at Holland’s in the early ’90s, and I grew up just minutes from the shop in Lakeside— I spent summers and weekends with dad sweeping floors, hanging doors, and learning the trade from the ground up.
I officially joined Holland’s in 2007, taking on various roles across the company before moving into the office in 2017. I was fortunate to spend several years shadowing our founder, Bob Holland, gaining insight into leadership and sales that helped prepare me for my current role as Director of Sales and Marketing.
Today, I work alongside Jed, our current president who is Bob’s son-in-law. This partnership allows us to focus on our individual strengths—Jed leading operations while I lead our sales team and guide our marketing efforts, combining our long-standing values with a modern approach to growth and service. —while helping shape the future of Holland’s.
Outside of work, I’m an East County native who loves the outdoors, a former college baseball player, and someone who believes hard work, teamwork, and passion are the foundation for success—on and off the job.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about San Diego is the people and the incredible mix of cultures that shape the city. Each neighborhood has its own unique vibe—whether it’s the hustle and energy of downtown and the Gaslamp, the laid-back island feel of Coronado, or the creative, up-and-coming scene in North Park. Every pocket of the city offers something special, from amazing food to distinctive architecture and local culture. San Diego might be a large city, but each of these communities can feel like its own small town.
