Community Highlights: Meet Margot Baxter of BlossOM from within

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margot Baxter.

Margot Baxter

Hi Margot, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began practicing yoga as a kid and fell deeply in love with the ancient medicine it has to offer. I dove deeper in high school and dedicated myself to a 200hr. YTT my senior year; so, that I could teach and share the magic of the art of yoga with others. I began teaching yoga my senior year of high school and have been teaching ever since for the last 6 years. I was the yoga instructor for the RISE resiliency program in college at Pepperdine University, which helps students physically, socially, cognitively, and spiritually to strengthen their awareness and life skills to be more of service and connected in the world. In college I hosted a variety of classes and larger scale yoga events where Pepperdine and the RISE Program partnered with Sunlife Organics to provide smoothies for students after leading 100 some attendees through a yoga event. After graduating college, I continued to fall back on the importance of having a daily practice. I stayed committed to teaching yoga and sharing the wellness modalities that help me thrive. I founded my wellness business BlossOM from within in 2021. My mission is to help everyone connect more to their inner-knowing and what brings them joy, so that they can channel that externally with the world at large. In turn, BlossOMing from within. At BlossOM, I host a variety of community events from yoga to new moon ceremonies, Blessingways for pregnant Mamas, breathwork, sound healings, and live DJ and ecstatic dance collaborations. Next week, I will be bringing yoga and sound healing to Lake Perris’ annual Same Same But Different Music Festival from September 27-29th to keep the good vibes rolling. Additionally, I will be gathering in community to assist with raising the collective consciousness and frequency on the planet! For upcoming events be sure to go to infoblossomfromwithin.com or @blossomfromwithin_ on Instagram to follow along and sign-up for my offerings.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is never a linear path, but it is through the twists and turns that have allowed me to meet myself more fully as well as life itself and humanity. Over the years, I have acquired valuable insights through maturing and overcoming my own life lessons, that have provided greater perspective and affirm the truth that we are all one. My freshman year of college definitely shaped me, since, we as a University, overcame an off-campus shooting where classmates lives’ were lost and the Woolsey wildfire took place all within the same week. My college years were far from predictable and consistent, given the global pandemic that followed my sophomore year and persisted into my junior year. I only spent 2 full years on campus and the other length of time was spent virtually. These unpredictable natural disasters and global challenges forced me to adapt and surrender to the flow of existence. I would come back to my breath that I learned the importance of through my yoga practice to weather the tumultuous nature of the times I was living through and we all were living through. This breath unites us all and helped me channel the focus that was necessary to maintain, in order to graduate and continue to progress in life. These experiences among others have helped me release attachment, which is such a valuable mindset to hold throughout all of life because at the end of the day everything is impermanent. It is through detaching where we can truly find meaning and peace and that is a lesson that I have received along the way thus far and value.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about BlossOM from within?
I created BlossOM from within in 2021 to help humanity connect more deeply to themselves as individuals and through that awareness, may they cultivate intentions surrounding what brings them joy to share externally/blossom more fully into their truest selves. The goal is to help people actually align themselves with their life purpose and help heal the planet. I offer yoga, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, community events and gatherings, new moon ceremonies, Blessingways to adorn pregnant mothers and their baby on the way, tarot and oracle readings, ecstatic dance and live DJ events, and birth and postpartum doula support. I am most proud of being able to reach souls I may never have been able to cross paths with by doing this sacred work. My intention is to help depedestalize spirituality, spiritual communities, and practices, so that everyone feels welcomed and safe to learn, connect, and be themselves. A career highlight is definitely leading yoga and sound healing at the music festival Same Same But Different this year!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think the health and wellness industry will always be an integral part of the world and is needed now more than ever, given the mental health and overall health crisis the nation is facing today. As an individual with my career, my mission is to change the lives of the people I meet in a positive way. I want anyone that receives a service from me or comes to a BlossOM event to leave feeling better and more aligned than when they arrived. My dream is to host global wellness retreats and collective events where we can gather to heal, dance, practice yoga, breathwork, sounbaths, and do reflective exercises to raise consciousness and be more connected to one another as human beings. True connection has always been a need for humanity, but is especially needed right now as we are more disconnected than ever. Being able to come together will really help transmute the sever and isolation we all have faced the past couple of years. Additionally, I look forward to bringing BlossOM’s healing to more music festivals because the art of music and ancient healing modalities intertwine so beautifully.
