Conversations with Amy Baker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Baker.

Hi Amy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello..yes, I am many things, ha! First, I am a Christian, a wife, a mother, a friend, an author, a Disney lover and as of recently the creator of “Wonderfully Made” Podcast.

I love what I do and I do what I love!

Notably right now, I am a mother to three children one with special needs , Grace. She is a 16 year old spicy young lady with Down Syndrome. Grace does it all and lets it fly! I am her most loud and proud cheerleading advocate! Graces’ story has a two-part series on our “Wonderfully Made” Podcast, finishing up with an interview with Grace.

For me personally, I try it all – and have a true passion to bringing others along the way and loving my tribe hard! I have a natural knack for celebrations, hospitality and making life enjoyable and humorous along the way!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
From the moment of Graces’ birth, it has been the most uncharted road we have been on. We figured out everything along the way and wouldn’t have it any other way! God has supplied our needs and comforted us and will continue throughout this journey. Grace has always had to battle, exceeding the expectations of professionals and others around her. Grace will do it ….just stand by and watch…I dare you! With this constant struggle it has led us, as her parents to have to be one step ahead of the game. We are constantly fighting for inclusion and showing others that she can do it all, and not only can she participate…she will show you up!

A podcast that’s mission is to show others a joyful way, transparency, & a is a cheerleader to help provoke you to love and good works!

In addition to that, I am an author. My book is titled “Come on In” by Amy Baker. You can purchase it on Kindle and Amazon. This was born out of my love of Hospitality! It truly is a blessing to show others a way to open their heart and home to your family and others. Sharing your time and heart with others is one of the best ways to show someone love. Having a safe space for your family to retreat to and enjoy is precious.

What were you like growing up?
N-E-R-D!

I joke, but it is pretty spot on! Ha! I had a passion for school and academics. I was obsessed with American Presidents specifically John F Kennedy. I collected all magazines, autobiographies, and watched documentaries on a pretty heavy rotation. I graduated from SDSU with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. I was and still am very outgoing and enjoy being social and gathering with friends frequently.
